Wow that didn’t take long! Congrats.

As LB7 mentions, making it clear on what they need to do is a must, but I don’t see that as a problem with a distance EC, since we don’t need to be close by for monitoring. Whether 5 miles or 500 miles from your owned EC, either they do it right or they get deleted. Distance isn’t an issue.
I meant ECs placed in areas without ECs nearby already could present a logging issue…I do run into people who are doing an EC for the first time and have difficulty in getting the details of logging them correct. Just pointing out that ECs placed in EC free areas need to be EXTRA clear on the logging requirements.
Yep that helps. The main reason for wanting to skip multis is I don’t want to back track. I want to keep heading towards Durand.
…and pulling this off in one day will be hard I’m guessing. But I so love a challenge….then again I have done MANY centuries on my bike…it’s the stopping every 600 feet that will take all the time.

If the weekend works out with my schedule, I would love to do this. Is the trail best ridden on a road bike or a mountain bike?
I’m hoping Zuma will chime in on the trail type; I’m assuming crushed gravel. I plan to ride my trusty Trek8000 mtn bike. Tentatively I have open May 10 (lots of Flash Mob events that day), 24 June 14 July 5, 12 and 26 open.

Hi,
You may want to give my bookmarks a look. I have a bookmark listing of all the caches that I like the best in Eau Claire, Chippewa and Dunn counties.
Here are the links:

Another option might be to head down the Chippewa River Trail. The trail head is downtown Eau Claire, and goes out into the country about 30 miles. There are caches all along the trail, about 50 caches in total. Here is a link to caches along the Chippewa River Trail

Hope this helps.

That trail is on my to do list…hopefully soon.
The only issue I see for placements in EC free zones is that you will need to be VERY CLEAR on the cache page about what needs to be done to log the cache. You may run in to several people what have never done an EC and “don’t get it.”
That aside, I think one of the greatest features of an EC is the fact that you can set them up anywhere…
To address the repeat feature issue, I have two (hopefully soon to be three) Lime kiln caches (one Team Hemi and I put together with Jim being the actual owner). One of these ECs is in Iowa and stays mainly on the topic of the kilns themselves and how they work. The two in Wisconsin have differing main topics while sharing basic information; one highlights the early Wisconsin lime trade, one emphasizes the stone more and includes information on the Niagara escarpment.
Repeats are not a bad thing but to keep things fresh I hope differing information can be written to keep people learning new things and to keep travelers traveling.

Is this emoticon off limits too? 🙄
lol. Kidding. It happens. Hopefully you are just a victim of bad luck and it’s not a plot to extinguish local geocaches. That takes too much work and people are lazy. Just keep a closer watch on your caches for a bit. Please post back here when this campaign kicks off. There are those among us looking forward to this event.

Maybe we should have it so you can edit but not delete messages after they are sent? (That way you would at least know who was jerking your chain… ;))
Awe come on what fun would that be?
Personally I like the cushion. Sometimes I need a second chance to reflect a bit and retract that hateful and obnoxious email I sent to someone who may or may not have needed a lashing….actually sometimes what was relevant when an email was sent is no longer relevant by the time the intended recipient gets around to opening the message…so deleting the message seems like the lesser of two evils.
…plus as an added bonus it makes people nuts.
no problem…I like to do that to Greyhounder (it makes her crazy).

I doubt it.
Oh but why not…it’s not like anyone kept them as their own or anything 🙄
the sender deleted the message before you read it…
First 500 with a Garmin Vista and the next 1,000 and counting with the Garmin 60Cx. I’m holding out hope that the Garmin Colorado will get it’s act together soon so that can be my next unit.
I see your little gift was found…that was nice of you.
