Well here’s the thing…if it were easy to find EVERY cache the charm would be quick to wear off. Seeking and not finding is part of what makes this sport so much fun. There are a wide variety of hides and hiders…you should never assume because you are at the right place you will come away with a find.
I wish for you better luck on your next attempt.
8)Thanks for the kind words….and yes your two Watertown puzzles keep haunting me…I know where they are I just can’t get at them…yet.
Also my latest Earthcache which is currently under review by the Earthcache folks is to be the closest to you and was originally going to be a really great cache but with several concerns voiced by the parks staff I had to scale it WAY back so I apologize if it does not inspire visitors in the way which I originally intended. There are more features in the park that I could not mention on the cache page. The location is still one that shouldn’t be missed but people will have to do exactly what the page asks you not to do to see what the park really has to offer.

You may want to delete GCJ7VD. This is a virtual, and all the monuments are still there, but the cache owner does not respond to emails, so pretty much anyone could log this one, even the Germans.

LOL!
Thanks for your reply. As AuntieNae mentioned there are some big things brewing in the Earthcache arena which will be reveled at a later date. Having a place to discuss them at length would be very helpful. Also for a lot of us I think Earthcaches really fill a primal need…and that is to really get us back to earth and away from the lamp posts for a bit. There seems to more and more of us hooked on the cache type all the time.
Whatever can be done to get a topic heading dedicated to this type or branched off a slightly more encompassing heading IMO would be very helpful. As you also know I have a Word doc dedicated to the process of hiding Earthcaches and I’d like that included there as well…but that will come later and may also need revisions ….
Please BOD look into this and see if there is something we can do to make this happen….
I proposed this last Sept…it wasn’t a good idea then…I wonder if it is now? This is one of the very reasons I ran for the BOD…I wanted to find out why this was a bad idea and who shot it down….that’s assuming there was a discussion about it. Sorry this is a sore subject for me.
Woohoo! Have fun!
I will second that suggestion (AGAIN).
Let me know if you need help on the project. πWell so much for caching again…it snows pretty much every Friday around here. Got another 3 inches last night.
The more you learn along the way the better. I have learned a great deal from placing my 7 +1 Earthcaches. You may be surprised how approachable a collage prof might be in giving you a direction (or just finding some cool place while caching) and from there a visit to the site and some Google research will carry you along way. I must have spent two dozen hours getting my Meteor Impact Earthcache just right. Some of the others were MUCH less research intense (and it shows as they are more cursory in nature).
I hope you give it some thought. Cheers.

I wonder if UW-Green Bay would be open to an Earthcache. Many know that the university had all the caches on the arboretum trail pulled because of the “uniqueness” of the Niagara Escarpment. Perhaps the escarpment would be worthy of an Earthcache?
I have made reference to it in three of my Earthcaches…
GC16916 Lannon Stone: Dolomite Unearthed
GC150BF The Niagara Escarpment: BradyΓ’β¬β’s Rock
…and in my new Waterfall Earthcache which has yet to list.It is certainly worthy of an Earthcache or three…or five.
I’d talk to them about it and perhaps seek the help of one of their geology profs as they can help you find an awesome feature to exploit…I mean show off.@Dom Nizza wrote:

Dom Nizza,
Are you a message board/forum junkie? Do you have a mission to post on as many varied message boards as possible or something???
– North Jersey.com
– Helpful Gardener.com
– Discuss Pittsburg Live – Food and Drink
– My Community News – Ridgewood
– Post-gazette.com – Pittsburgh, PA
– and now Wi-geocaching.comYou are all over the internet! not just on message boards… and it seems you have had this addiction for quite some time! It seems that in a brief bit of searching, I found out all sorts of things about “Dom Nizza” aka Type Writer Guy…
So what drew you to the WGA Forums? Do you know what Geocaching is? Ever been to Wisconsin? Do you know how to pronounce Oconomowoc?
Your posts are interesting but how you got here is even more intriguing…
Thanks for asking … I already advised others that asked the same question.. I found a cyber buddy who had an interest in “fishing” (Zane Grey History my favorite) that happened to be a member of your caching group. He posted some photos and information and I followed thru and connected. I post here because I like this Board and being a Sicilian (almost an Indian) many connections taught me how to travel and post.

… If you look closely I’m standing on corner of this building. π .. π As for Oconomowac it’s derived from Coo-no-m0-wauk (Where the waters meet)….You need to be sober to pronounce it. 8) .. 8) It’s either this hobby or chasing girls… at 86 years of age now I better stick to this.. Thanks with putting up with me.
This picture MAY be a spoiler for one of my Geocaches…if you look at the steps that is….

I do, I do! π

had to look that one up…
LOL…sry. I love words…just don’t ask me to spell them.
Stickies are abhorred by the management.
(believe me I have tried….but my suggestions are apparently also insignificant π )@Mister Greenthumb wrote:
We went 8 for 8 Saturday in Menomonee Falls and had little trouble walking around.
So I hope you left footprints….maybe I’ll follow them….
