Patience……………….
The difference between getting a board position or not is only one vote this year, so we have to take a bit of extra time to double check that all the votes are legitimate before certification can occur.
An announcement will be coming soon.
LOL…hum I wonder if I should have voted for myself?

Not saying that WGA shouldn’t think about getting an AED, just that the basic CPR skills are something we should all learn, not just for caching events but for our families.
Yep, like Ken stated the price has really dropped on these units in the past few years so that now even many small businesses can have them.
I have gotten CPR / First Aid certified every two years for the past 10 or so…including in the use of AED’s. Getting training is definitely one of the best things you can do for your family and friends.

Wow. I didn’t know there were that many Mounds caches already out there. i am so happy to see this thread.
I have been working on a pair of Earthcaches with mounds in mind. Guess I better get busy now with this new thread before someone else gets any ideas in the area!
That goes for you too, Lostby7!
You might look outside of Brown County. I’m having trouble getting approval for an Earthcache there; seems the land manager doesn’t want anyone walking in the park because they could get hurt. I can’t even get an imaginary container placed there… 👿

Mine at Effigy Mounds is now live.
I have plans to find that one in late March / early April. 😛
The funny thing is I keep reading how rare these are and it seems like they are everywhere….until two weeks ago I didn’t know I lived about 2 miles from several of these. The fine folks building the new Pabst Farms complex here in Oconomowoc just went ahead and drove right into them…now they need to be repaired. I would like to place a cache there if it ever becomes parkland.

New Virtual and Earthcaches require a DNR permit, but what about Locationless.
I’ve seen lots and lots of people getting their picture taken in front of State Park signs (or footbridges, or waterfalls, or lakes, or…). I thought that’d be a good locationless cache to post.
But, how does the DNR Caching policy reflect this? I see nothing on their website about Locationless Caches.
Weren’t locationless caches outlawed by GC a few years ago?
“Locationless (Reverse) Cache
Locationless caches could be considered the opposite of a traditional cache. Instead of finding a hidden container, you are given a task to locate a specific object and log its coordinates. A scavenger hunt of sorts, it involves collecting waypoints of various objects around the world.Locationless caches have evolved into Waymarking. Waymark categories are similar to how locationless caches were listed on geocaching.com, but you can now search for the locations in each category.”

Thrower of Monkey Wrenches here.
How do locationless caches fall into the DNR policy?
I have found that even when I place an Earthcache on DNR property the land manager wants to be notified with the “DNR Notification form.” They tell me that they want to know what is going on on their land.
So here I sit in Appleton with hundreds of caches all around me and no way to go find them as I cannot get on the system…thanks a lot groundspeak!
Thank goodness I had a few in my GPS for a Green Bay trip which I have finished much quicker than expected….now I have some extra free time and no caches to find. 👿
thanks for the link at least I can log some finds…… 🙄

On a related note, I received an “anonymous” donation for LCG prizes, so I will use that to obtain more geocoiins. The prize for February is a set of 4 travel bug dog tags.
I want to thank you and your anonymous benefactor as this is a great way to get people out and finding a few of these “Lost” caches. I have had one of mine hit a couple of times no doubt directly because of your efforts.
Cheers.I get to Hudson a few times a year so I will be catchin these either later this month or next…wish I could be there….that said I can’t believe all the new caches in River Falls it has easily tripled since I was last there about a year ago…it looks like that area is in good hands.

Ask jthorson about his now-archived geocache called Bray Road Beast (GCE40B).
Ah. I thought there was a cache about it but looked and didn’t see it. Thanks.
It has lots of names…the show about it was really cool; I think it repeats on Feb 3rd.
Lots of great ideas….I might have to add another day….
