the page shows up right away ….the email can take several minutes or longer to arrive.
I assume you have looked in your “Spam” or “Junk” folders for the emails also? If you do find them there you will need to add the sender to the “Approved list” in your settings….also are the two email address you have used from different companies (like one from Hotmail and one from Yahoo or Charter for example)…beyond that I’m at a loss for why you’d not be getting them.

I’m just wondering why I don’t receive emails when I do a PQ……I’ve yet to get any email on any PQ I’ve run. Any thoughts on this?
Perhaps the email address you originally supplied is no longer active or filters out the query…On the bottom of the query submission page they give you the option to have it sent to an “alternate email”…give that one a try with another address if you have one.

My #’s in comparison to the big boys are nothing to get too excited about until I looked at total # of Earthcaches. My 34 puts me up there. Woo Hoo!
34 EC’s is impressive! My 22 is still decent but I can see I need to get my butt moving to get into the elite ranks….that said, I think there are about 10-15 in the area I still haven’t gone after…

We also found the one in Green Bay.
Sorry for the question, it probably says somewhere but,
What does a Cache Rescue involve?
Basicaly just go and verify that there are no scraps left there.

I’m sure this has been brought up already in this thread but I’m to lazy to look…. anyway I have two caches that were placed prior to the DNR notification form and was wondering if I should or need to submit a form for my caches?
Yes, you should.
…and posting information on the page stating that it has been done would help others know that they should be seeking the same information for there new (and old) DNR property placements.
Here is the format I like:

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to MANAGER NAME HERE of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resouce managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. The DNR Notification form and land manager information can be obtained at: http://wi-geocaching.com/modules.php?name=Wiki&pagename=Hiding%20A%20CacheYou da man! I appreciate all the time you have put in so that so many of us could get out and enjoy nature (and lamp posts). Cheers.
I have a heck of a time with this issue. I’d like for several of my caches to be rated as a 1 star, but I question exactly what that means so I generally try to stick to 1.5 stars if there is even the smallest question in my mind (which is most of the time). I think my only caches with a 1 star rating are my Lannon Earthcache and First Baby of Brookfield
(cuz there are no containers).Wow Bec you sure can shake it…..

I could be wrong but it just sounds like they may be going through the motions but who knows there is usually a lawyer there to muck things up.
In addition to an overview of what geocaching is and how it works, I’d also bring along a copy of GC’s cache placement policies so that you will be able to answer specific questions they may have in terms of liability.
In general the placement policies should make most government entities more comfortable with geocaches as they show that the game is somewhat regulated and that steps are taken to insure that there is no unreasonable danger which would arise from the placement of our little plastic boxes.
Oh and let me point out that NO, I have never gone before a government body to explain what geocaching is…just dozens of other people I know or run into who asks questions about it (including several police officers and park officials). I’m more of a spammer than a public speaker (though back in the day my minor was in communications).

Yep I recall reading those posts I believe there was a cool picture chart with that as well…..I still look to the day when this issue goes away.
Was this the chart?
Yep that’s the one. I originally got permission to re-post it here but never got around to it (and I didn’t want to start another of these threads). That chart is awesome….cracks me up…I’m a little on the dark side as it turns out.

So why would anyone, who believes there is nothing wrong with the practice, take the time to go back and delete (or switch them to notes) their event temp find logs??? Do you see the paradox???
“Paradox” -50 cents for cool word use.
I think for me and perhaps for some others the practice isn’t necessarily wrong, but rather it is simply wrong for us. Being a noob at one time I thought that’s what you were supposed to do in order to tell the cache owner about all the finds you made and how much you appreciated each find. I saw people post as “Attended” not as “notes” so that’s what I did.
I have defended the temp logging practice many time on the GC boards as I feel it is up to each person to log the way they wish….but this seems to be one of those things you really cannot swing people on.
I cringe each time this topic is brought up as some one always has strong feelings about it and embers begin to burn. To be honest it all seems kinda silly to me.
Not sure how your remarks could be taken wrong Bec…they seemed very innocuous to me. I’m of the same opinion, I have logged them, no longer do so, but couldn’t care less who still does.
As I said in my first post about the can of worms….it looks like the can opened and spilled out. Worms can be so messy.
