You can have the cache type changed by a reviewer if you need that done….

Nice to see our funds going to good use…..

    Well stated Dave.

While I do not understand the strife I do understand that it is an important issue to a few of our geocaching kin. I respect that they are irked by the policy but rehashing it over and over is counter productive in my opinion. All that does is create hostility.

I removed all links to the WGA which I used to feature on all my caches a few years ago due to the fact that at the time there was a lot of bickering on the boards. I did not want to introduce new cachers to such an environment.

I FIRMLY hold that people should have and express opinions but sarcasm and name calling is not appropriate.

Yeah, it’s a bit buggy. If you check the box for “hide your finds”, then pan, they show up again…

    I like it though!

You have to toggle it on and off again to make it work….. 🙄

Uhhh………that’s Appleton! Are you planning on coming up to try your hand at puzzles again?

LOL………..no! I need to regroup first.

This is a huge improvement. Honestly, the google maps had become next to useless for us in our home region. Too much clutter with found caches. I’ll have to go try it out. Thanks for the heads up!

I totally agree. It’s still a bit buggy and you can only zoom out to 15 miles but it IS much better.

    Nice addition Jeremy

Only when you are not around…

Works great! Many thanks to Jeremy and the board for this neat little add-on.

Also great imagination in GOOD and BAD forum titles above…made me chuckle while I’m supposed to be all serious and working…. 😈

We are trying to find a room in Appleton to go caching this weekend and researching the ones we have not done and I stumbled on this one – yikes! 😯 GCR69X 😈

That is one of my favs. I think originally those may have been “stations of the cross” like at Holy Hill. Neat place.

    Great story. Thanks for sharing.

Do you plan to change your caching name to “Lostby15” now?

    zuma

    😈
The name came from a bike race I lost by 7 seconds…..

As soon as I got back to Lake Mills I downed a 1 liter recovery drink and a root beer. I waited (in the sun) in the food line for 20 minutes and when I got the food I could eat only three or four bites.

Getting home was a challenge as well. The 40 minute drive was almost too much for me…kept thinking I need to pull over and rest, I need to pull over.

When I did finally get home my head felt like it was going to explode and I would have sworn my temp was in the 100’s (it was only just above normal).

I took a three hour nap and then was finally able to eat the first food I’d had since breakfast some 10 hours earlier (save for 3 bites of dinner, an orange and a half at a rest stop and some Power Gel). After the nap, food and more water I started to feel better.

Long story short, keep other people in view, know the area AND bring a GPS!

I see garmin has a couple new cycle GPS, the edge 605 and the edge 705. These may have a few more features making them more like a cycle computer, but the price difference I think I would rather buy a color etrex and a bike mount.

We sell these at work but even at cost these are still VERY pricy.

I actually did have a GPS mount for my bike but returned it as I have been known to crash now and again…trashing my bike is one thing but trashing my GPS….now I just couldn’t live with myself after that. 😉

Well I must say that that didn’t take you very long….seems like only a few months ago I met you on the trail as relative noobs……Grats!

in reply to: Brass ring stupid goals? #1879753

    I have two goals:

I would like to get into and stay in the top 50 in terms of “Wisconsin’s Rankings for Geocachers.” Not sure why, it’s kind of a lame goal. Being a numbers guy isn’t all bad as it does bring me to awesome places along the way.

I would like to place only good caches which people will enjoy doing. Right now I’m doing this by creating what I hope are Cool Earth caches.
