Odd the MSRP is the same for both… Linkey

REI has it for the same as well: Linky

If your only issue is the Micro SD card you can get a 1 gig card at New Egg for about $13 bucks (shipped)…..and that also includes the adapter for using the card in larger devises.

    yes the legendCX will autoroute

I stand corrected…it wasn’t clear to me on the website whether it did or not and my Legend (old style) doesn’t auto route…..

I guess I got a bit side tracked….I don’t believe the Legend CX will auto route anyway. To be honest I’m not sure if Metroguide will work in the new LegendCX though I’m guessing it would…but again if your software is Metroguide v6 (or older) it is pretty old and you may want to think about updating anyway….

…HOWEVER, if you are wanting to use auto-routing, metroguide won’t do it. You have to go to City Navigator (they just released V8)……

That’s not exactly true…you can use “Img2gps” which is free and will convert your metroguide maps to routeable images in the GPS. I use it and it works fine (however I use it in the GPS60cx but I think it should work in yours as well) ….but if your software is old you may as well just get the upgraded City Navigator. My Metroguide software is a few years old and as such I do not have many of the newer roads on my mapset……..

I’ll be hanging out on the road caching…pending rain I have high hopes for some big numbers. My boy and I will be around in the evenings though. Greyhounder has my cell number (for a phone I have owned for a month and have yet to use – I HATE cell phones). My son and I would be agreeable to hanging out on Friday and Sat night wherever people decide to congregate.

Once again let me state how glad I live a bit further South…..

Did you realize the little froggie on the finishers coin glows?

Well, the quest is officially over, though people can still complete it at any time. It’s just that the leader board is set and will not change. I think the WI contingent did quite well with pharmteam coming in nearest the top at #16 – woohoo!

Congrats also to Trekkin and Birdin as well as – oh yeah – me 😯 for winning a prize in the random drawing. I have no idea what the prizes are yet. Geez, I never win anything so this is a strange feeling.

    Will be interesting…..congrats!

If you don’t have money to burn, try downloading Netscape. And, like Lostby7 sasys, read “HTML for Dummies”.

Netscape is where I got my start; its web editor was very intuitive to use.

❓ Ok… does anyone know of a good book that I can teach myself enough about web design to update the Hedgehog Welfare site and it’s Internet store? Or… is there anyone willing to give me a crash course? We are having major problems with the person we have working on it now. The changes we gave her in January are still not done. It’s time to take matters into our own hands.

While I’m no expert, I learned by using my browsers web editor (which is more like a word processor than you may think) then I read “HTML for Dummies”which helped quite a bit. After that I was able to read most code on a page and make edits to the raw code.
If you have money to burn the computer program “Dreamweaver” is a nice program which acts again a lot like a word processor (but what you write it puts in to HTML code). That said I’m sure some real HTML folks will chime in to add much more helpful information.

Though I used to love reading John Saul, Dean Koontz and Stephen King, my ADHD has not allowed me to complete a book in many years. For good or bad the morning paper and various Internet forums is it for me. 😥

That said I do have the final Dark Tower book (by King) bedside…I use it to set my glasses on.

    traditional caches vs puzzles

Really? I must have missed this topic along the way. As most of my caches are puzzles I’m curious as to what the controversy would be……granted that is for another topic as I’d hate to be a thread stealer…..

…If its meant to be a “for the numbers” cache, I wouldn’t think (as I do on some of mine that are intentionally that way) that the owner was expecting any more than “signed the log”.

I totally agree and as I have two caches that are nothing short of PARK AND GRABS, I expect just that type of log….the caches I own which are multi’s or well thought out puzzles are the ones where I’m a bit disappointed in the ZERO effort logs. I guess I take too much pride in a few of my caches and feel that everyone else should think these are the greatest caches since the invention of the GPS…OK maybe not but still some of them are nifty and a few kind words about the effort I took to place them would be nice.

Those of you who have a lot of finds in a day- any methods to share?

I hate to say it but that is where caching with paper really helps….I have about 10 caches listed on each sheet of paper and I write a few notes about each cache I find……also revisiting the cache page usually sparks more recall about a particular location…even after 30 finds in a day.

Geobash will be a challenge though as I hope to come away with nearly 100 if the weather holds….there I will for sure keep good notes….

I used a cut and paste log one night logging a whole bunch of Zuma’s Chippewa Trail caches and they didn’t’t deserve that- and I’ve tried to not repeat that mistake.

I have been guilty of giving short logs on more deserving caches as well; I feel bad about those……I owe a few cachers better logs than what I wrote…..sometimes it’s easy to forget that the log is more than a way to get a smile, it’s also a way to thank the hider.
