We will be sure to pass that info on to the group. We did not make the Chippewa event.. so the coins were just collector items like a pin?
How much of a draw do you think t-shirts are? Especially compared to coins or TB’s?
I did not go to the Falls event either, but do have one of the coins (which are awesome looking). I’m not sure that you can beat the drawing power of coins but I’m sure some others will chime in and opiniate.
The ones from the Chippewa Falls event were not trackable and I think they were a big hit without trackabliity. But, either way I think coins will be a good attraction.
I’m looking forward to paying you fine folks a visit. I hope there are coins tied into this in some way as that is generally a huge draw to cachers and may be enough to sway fence sitters to make the trip.
Not positive, but I believe a vote/poll was done, but even so it is and should be up to each event holder to allow logging as they see fit. There is no reason they should be bound or pressured by what the WGA does.

The tallying is done by WGA members. The 3 folks doing this year are not up for board election.
BecIf you need 4th from outside the BOD I’d gladly get hooked up to electrodes as well…all I do is prowl the boards anyway; it would give me something to do…..It’s too cold for Geocaching and that blasted white stuff gets in the way.

Hey, a micro micro Jeep would be interesting.
But I hope they pick a decent color!
Perhaps hot pink so we can relive the 80’s and so that they don’t get “lost” in cachers packs.
I hope this means you sold them all…..?

There still are 3 or 4 within a 25 mile radius of Wausau in caches just waiting for someone like LOSTBY7 to claim them. 😉
I would pay money to see him drive up to Wausau to get a Jeep (oh yeah — that was a challenge Lostby7)
Bec
Hummm a challenge huh? I do like a good challenge.

Take the challenge Lostby7 and pick me up on the way…………
I imagine it is hard to get a jeep into all those micros by you…..Next years model should be the micro variety..

there is a few geocachers that will go visit a cache and not post it on the web or sign the log that they found it.
Yes but I think both of them live somewhere in Kansas…..

I would hope the new board would address this issue, or at least at events there should be rules given out in writing, not the verbal rules, where fingers can be pointed, well she or he told me to do it this way. I seriously didn’t know how to log event caches, I was watching them all being logged separately, but I didn’t feel that was right, so I just logged them the way I did, and I feel ok with how I logged them, not knowing if it was the right or wrong way to log them.
The method of logging temps (allowed or not) at an event is typically listed on the cache page. The Past WGA events have allowed temps to be logged though that information has not appeared on the cache page it has been hashed out here on the boards where opinions (and I believe votes?) were taken. It may be looked at again in the future but currently it is allowed at official WGA events.
I firmly believe that unless you have visited the cache you have no business voting for it. But then again COTM seems pointless to me as there is no way to get meaningful votes for caches on an apple to apple basis.
(I hope you have some gear left over for me to wear as I bruise easily of late.)
Just as when I started this thread, these Jeeps have continued to be ultra scarce locally. Not sure if they all got released this time out or if by dumb luck my area has been kinda a no fly-zone for the buggers….

Is it just a group of cachers that feel it is wrong or is it the general consensus of the caching community?
❓I have never made my feelings known about this before…but I do not like this practice. However, I do not really care enough to sit and argue about it either. I just wanted to let everyone know that there are people out there that don’t like the way temps are logged who don’t sit on the groundspeak forums and complain about it intermittently throughout the year.
Thanks for your comments. My guess is that there are also many people who do log the finds but don’t post over at GC because they either don’t care enough about what others think or just don’t feel like getting bashed all over the forums.
I started to log my temps back in the beginning but have since removed all the multiple event logs (about 200 of them or so). I choose not to log them now but I will defend the practice as I firmly believe there should be somewhere to log the temp finds that were made (if a GPS was used to find them). In the absence of a “Event Temp”category I guess this will have to do for now.
What disappoints me is that the powers that be over at GC will not make this issue go away.

❓The vocal few dislike the logging of temps for sure; it’s the same voices over at GC over and over. I swear they have nothing better to do than repeat the same tired comments on every new thread. But…they (and it is the same people every time) also complain about everything else as well. Seriously their opinions really don’t mean squat. Log em’ if ya want. Until they create a “temps found” category on GC this debate will go on and on and on…….
