I think this is interesting. I wonder if there is any interest in the WGA membership undertaking a “basic” mapping project for trails were there are known geocaches.
I know I have a track log of the Mascoutin Trail, but I’ve tried to convert this to a GPX file to share with others. I’m certainly curious and this would be a great asset to cachers outside their “normal” area.
This topic come up from time to time and does not seem to draw a lot of volunteers.
If you are referring to the Ice Age Trail which runs through there you cannot get an electronic copy to download; the IAT folks keep that private…
…I guess I should rephrase that, you cannot get it from the IAT folks…some other organization I suppose could map it…
two words come to mind reading this story….”Hulk smash!”
Very good story…..
sure….if you need more…
…and now right around day 80….
A query of 500 results and less shows up in email…over 500 and it is a link back to the site…at least that’s how I believe it worked last time I created one.

Shhh, someone from Germany will hear you!
LOL…to be honest since I placed explicit statements about no armchair logging on my virt, I have had no problems from….well from folks who live far far away….

Just checked… I’m busy those days. 😕
I just checked my availability for those days as well…turns out I’m short by between $10,000 and $21,000.

It is best to stand back as far as you can and chuck rocks at it. Safety first! Don’t want to be too close if you are wrong.
+1
These hides are in my opinion generally a bad idea and should be archived once found. If you have any question about the safety of a hunt you should stop. No cache is worth injury….well no major injuries anyway.
I’m a fan of virts but the ALR part of it will be interesting….considering ALRs are not allowed.
Also the potential for extra administrative load on our reviewers could be problematic. Seriously, what is the first thing that happens when a new cache type is created (not to mention one which does not have a container)? Folks want to get one of the new cache types published….and if this has tight rules governing publication, the reviewers are going to have a hell of a time with all the submissions (and potentially subsequent denials).
*Bump*
One week left to vote…the pics are worth a look to see Wisconsin at it’s finest (trailside). Voting ends March 31.
