I always have to convert it.
I thought you would be an expert at that from doing bike races? Just multiply everything by .6, close enough for government work, en so?
I raced in MPH…and when I did so it was informal racing. Drives me crazy hearing the kph stuff when watching European bike racing….
Also I did note that some of my caches too had icons added to the pages that I did not put there…I wonder how/why that happened.

Ooh.. a park and grab attribute!
Perhaps they should have made the hike distance one’s “bilingual” for us Americans who don’t think in KM’s…Some nice new additions to the attribute list.
I love the P&G attribute…..and agree on the KM thing…..it’s bad enough they race the Tour de France in kilometers…I always have to convert it to find out if they really are going fast up those mountains…if everyone would just play nice and use the American system of measurements I wouldn’t be confused all the time or find myself with two sets of tools.

This year we went to McDonalds drawn by the free smoothie coupon and Walgreens by the free water coupon. Both locations we spent nearly $30 above and beyond the freebie. (FYI – Walgreens was sold out of Bug spray!!)
I guess I timed this right as they were just completing the filling of an end-cap when I came in and bought my two cans of protection…
“Mosquitoes and humidity are beyond the control of the committee”….well that certainly shortens my list of complaints…
LOVED:
* Any unique container or hide (in particular the event’s multicache).
* The (almost) clockwork way in which folks were processed during check-ins.
* The passes to the pool.
* That the event was open for two days.
* The BINGO cards.
* The kid’s treasure box.LIKED:
* Caches which were grouped closely.
* That there were available water caches.NOT SO MUCH A FAN OF:
* The fact that one of the caches could only be reached by boat but was not listed as a water cache.
*Caches being spread out as far as they were (in particular the one out in Newberg). You do put on a good show!
My personal thanks go out to all involved in the event in particular of course all the WGA folks who helped put it together and also to those who volunteered their time to represent the Association.
I spent the weekend with Tim and Patrick from BlackBelts as well as with my son and daughter. I can tell you that Friday was a bit on the tough side as we cached the northern route (in the rain)…but Sat was a blast caching the central and southern caches (in much better weather). We all had fun and more importantly to the chamber we did drop some money in the community in the way of bug spray (Wallgreens) and food (McDonald’s, Cousin’s and George Webbs).
I look forward to next years event….

A couple of months ago I had some kids blow up a few of these next to my neighbors car.
I found two enlarged swollen bottles in my yard…the ones I found in my yard I shot with a BB gun from a safe distance…they did not explode violently so perhaps the mix on these was off a bit. The bottles blown up by the neighbors car were quite loud and sounded like gun shots.
If you see soda bottles that are in unusual places or appear swollen do not touch them.

Just informed that the staircase to the top of the Roche-a-Cri mound have been closed. Apparently they have been deemed unsafe and will be replaced hopefully by next year some time.
Is this confirmed? If so the EarthCaches need to be looked at requirement-wise…
the Grotesque Towers Earthcache has been archived.
From what I’m told, that is unrelated to the stairs….Lagrac has his own reasons…but you are right that is the only EC requiring (optionally) to go to the top.
I stand corrected. The archive may in fact be related to the stair issue.
First and foremost one should have actually found (or at least looked for) the cache in order to vote for it.

Have you been to Parfrey’s Glen? Probably 80 miles or so, but a pretty cool place worthy of a milestone.

Also if you do that, Driftless: Natural Bridge State Park GC1A9G8 is pretty amazing as well.@Lostby7 wrote:
Oh well I guess the BOD and the folks who made the events should get the sets (with the red). I guess I can save some money now. I’m a bit surprised that the first I hear about the tags is now when they were sold at the campout….I find the distribution there and lack of forthcoming information about that disappointing.
*EDIT My thanks to the individual who sent me a PM offering to get me a set at the picnic….I’m taking a pass as I suddenly don’t want any.
To clarify (as I think some punctuation should have been used….), I knew they were going to given out at the events I just didn’t know they had been handed out…finding out they have been floating around for some time now was a bit of a surprise.
I also apologize for my terse post. I meant no disrespect…just disappointment and surprise.

am I reading correctly….( I am a bit sleepy), the only way to get the red tag is at the picnic?
Now I read somewhere that stages of night caches are not restricted by the 528 rule, is that true? Of course the final would still need to be 528 away from other caches….
Anyone wanna take a stab at clarifying this?
Does anyone here put food in a Lock n Lock?
Sorry 😳 I do tend to go off topic….I just can’t seem to get the voices in my head to cooperate while posting….that said there are another 27 caches along my local bike trail as of this morning…now bike path power trails ARE worthy microspew….though these are actually a great combination of micro small and full size…
