We’ll be on terra firma, heading to the Badlands and Black Hills, getting not that many caches and none of them FTFs. We’ll stick with our five mile hike in the Hills to find a few letterbox hybrids! LOL And hopefully the climb to Heck Table in the Badlands, if we can get past the threat of Prairie Rattlers.
Be sure to hike up to Harney Peak (and bring water):
Here’s a shot of my sig other…she hates the shot; I think it is the best picture I ever took. Also this EC should NOT be missed. GC1FKPJ

any updates on this in terms of arrival?
We’re working on an announcement and will have more info very soon. Sorry for the delay, but there was much to consider.
Thanks for the update 8)

I have done a few of these…just be careful bout walkin round late at night…it can get a bit unruly in the city at night. I have felt much safer in most other citys at night than I felt in DC.

Rather .. they are just trying to get a handle on the geocaches being placed in their parks.
Then they need to get the facts straight before drafting policy. The policy is very poorly researched and written/copied….and more permits (this time before placement)? No thanks, they can keep their parks.
what no permit fee? I’m disappointed… 🙄
Virtual Caching is the preferred method? Nice to see they have a firm grip of Geocaching….what with virtuals not being allowed (outside of stages of a multi or some puzzle caches which both still lead to a physical cache…) I guess if EarthCaches were easier to create (and appropriate unique geological sites existed in the parks) we could place these in the county parks to get the “preferred” status…oh and never mind that photo “requirements” are a hotbed of controversy in the geocaching world with them often being interpreted as an “additional logging requirement.”
So glad I pay my taxes for this…sorry Waukesha County you will not be getting a dime from me for a park pass.

Download a copy of iSpell from a trusted site like cNet.com It’s a free spell checker that’s never further than a right click away. You can use it on any page or program (for the most part).

Do you know if that program will work inside of a FaceBook status box update…..my boy needs some help in that area….FireFox will not work inside that box.

I have a new hide I am going to go hide tomorrow, that I had to wait for the DNR form to get back to me cause it was close enough on the border of SNA and DNR land I didnt want to chance it. It took about 2 weeks for me to get it back, which is about normal for the 10 or so forms I have sent in.
With an possible SNA in the mix, you are correct to get acknowledgment first.

Just informed that the staircase to the top of the Roche-a-Cri mound have been closed. Apparently they have been deemed unsafe and will be replaced hopefully by next year some time.
Is this confirmed? If so the EarthCaches need to be looked at requirement-wise…
the Grotesque Towers Earthcache has been archived.
From what I’m told, that is unrelated to the stairs….Lagrac has his own reasons…but you are right that is the only EC requiring (optionally) to go to the top.
I have gotten signed forms about half the time…nothing half the time and only once (last week) was I contacted by the dept with questions about the hide. So like Zuma says, place the cache, send the notification, list the cache on GC and if there is a problem the parks folks will let ya know…

Are we looking at total caches or ones left to find…?
I have 4 to do within 5 miles of me….(three of them are new ones).
I have 75 total caches within 5 miles of my house.well they seem to be on the up and up at this point in any case…not sure why there were reports of multiple results….maybe the reports alone got the note poster to think it NEEDED a checker.
😕
