Anyone use the new Owner Maintenance log type on an Earthcache yet?? 😉

Seems lame when if an update is needed all you need to is change the page text….and post a note if needed.

Re: the lost and found….the whole blog thing seems kinda lame but I guess if folks have that much time on their hands…

(as a side note I have removed all but about a dozen family members and freinds from my Facebook friends so if I defriended you it was nothing personal…there are no geocachers among my Facebook friends).

OK here’s another for the new Lost and Found component. 🙄

…just more clutter on the cache page; my hope is that the banner will go away shortly once we get used to the application (which also gets a 🙄 ).

After all the talk on the Groundspeak forums about what a rating system should and shouldn’t be and the best they can come up with is a “Like” button? Really?

    Agreed…lame 🙄

I’m planning for two (or three) very long days of caching.

in reply to: FTF to total finds ratio #1929855

I have absolutely no clue how many FTFs I have…maybe a couple hundred… At first is was fun to go after them but now I couldn’t care less (for the most part). I don’t even mention it in the logs. Back when folks put nice swag in caches a FTF was fun…now, not so much.

Once I picked up about 25ish of them one morning…I wasn’t going for the FTFs that day but it happened nonetheless.

yes there are all kinds of variables when folks sign in at a cache…or apparently decide not to sign at all…I believe GC says if you want to delete an unsigned log so be it.

Still I saw a person sign two names and the second person was not with him. 🙄

Everyone plays by their own rules and will continue to do so….

I am sorry, I always end my log with TFTC.
    Thanks

…folks are talking about people whose full log is “TFTC”

Using TFTC is totally fine in addition to other words about the hunt.

in reply to: letterbox hybrid caches #1896669

I have found several letterboxes near geocaches…just part of the game. I actually archived my favorite cache due to two letterboxes which moved in next to my cache…the damage to the area was getting out of hand with all the traffic.

Yep, they (groundspeak lackeys) were hinting again in the website forum of an upcoming new release (updates) to the geocaching.com website.

better get yer pocket queries done now….

    I’ve had them done for nearly 24 hours now, I can’t get them to download, keep getting 500 server error 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡 😡

I just submitted a 500 item one as the 1,000 will require you to use their site…

Yup, when I click to download from the pq’s ready to download page…big ole “500 Server Error” shows up…

But the 500 query should still come to your inbox…whereas the 1000 you need to go get it at the website.

After publishing 30 of them I have stopped writing them as I got frustrated with the tightened process and differing views between the different reviewers as to what constitutes a publishable listing.

…and yes if rewritten it would need better logging reqs as those on the page are now weak by the tightened guidelines.
