It’s unlikely to get unarchived as you would need very compelling reasons for that to happen.

Yes you could simply copy / paste and republish the cache but you’d need to go through the whole approval process again including in this case getting SNA approval again.

As I wrote the page if someone wants to go through the process of re-listing it be my guest and copy the whole page and re-list it….

Have seen it happen…..known for a fact the cacher whose name was on the log hadn’t visited….I let it slide…it wasn’t my cache and the actual person did show up a few weeks later to sign the log. It was telling of the kind of cacher he and the person who signed his name are / were. They rarely if ever visit these forums anymore as the generally accepted geocaching “rules” are lost on them and they no longer wanted to hear about their “bad behaviors.”

the CO seems to be shedding several of his ECs….I visited another one he got rid of this past weekend…As I wrote the towers cache I have to say I’m bummed he let it go.

Found 5 this past weekend….they were all traditional caches (just with a stamp in the container)…not sure if they were cross listed…still the caches were high quality and well planned and placed; in fact three of them now reside on my list of favorite finds….if you find yourself near Hudson WI I highly recommend an LBH run.

I thought about setting one up a few years ago but was counseled by the reviewer….(s)he said why make a letterbox hybrid if you have no intention to cross list it? I agreed and didn’t create one.

    Thanks Eric.

We have been buzzing about it at this thread:

It’s great to get some local recognition!

Oooooooo… If we can get our act together on #21 and #49, we’ll have a blackout in our area.

Tried on #49 yesterday, but on a 10-mile road, we wanted to pick out a good spot, and after I got attacked by the berry bushes and the giant poison ivy, we cut short our mission. Round 2 coming up there.

100 feet from the road and public property can make it a bit of a challenge…luckily I have a state park on my road…still I too ran into poison ivy which limited placement. I plan to relocate the cache again this winter when I have some more time (and no ticks) to hunt the perfect spot…at the moment it’s a micro in the woods…oh how I disappoint myself some days.

Reading this back…I meant, that clearly folks are hiding these this way and finding them fairly often so the concerns by the placers and finders seem to be minimal at best. I think they are a very bad idea and have read several times where law enforcement have been called out to these hides. That said, the thread wasn’t about the appropriateness of the hide but rather the thoughts and experience of finding one for the first time…I guess the first time I found one I thought it was clever….the first time.

…that screeching sound still haunts me.

The first time I found one of these I was in New Jersey…or was it CA…both had lots of these.

Hunted a series of these in MN. The series was based appropriately on cockroaches. I like to think of LPHs as the cockroaches of the geocaching world.

As a noob I hid one like this and got complaints about it being dangerous so I archived it. Clearly it’s not a big deal to hide in this fashion anymore.

15 looks a lot like Cleavland State…but not an exact match

Actually, the easiest approach is probably to make a macro to add the attributes in a log, which can be included in the GPX download. I was looking at this this morning. Doesn’t look too tough to achieve. You could also theoretically add them to the cache description, but that would require that you lock the cache after adding to prevent reloads from erasing them.

I’m assuming this is theoretically done through use of GSAK?

No, the Oregon did not display the attributes. But I can see where it could be easily implemented, like the many other enhancements Garmin added after it was introduced.

Maybe it’s time to bug Garmin to get this update made….

I was informed by a cacher from Brookfield that it is unlawful to place any cache’s on any road or near any road that belongs to the DOT i.e Hwy 45, Hwy 167, Hwy 41 etc. What is the ruling.

….define near. The roads easement extends only so far. I had to deal with this on one of my caches….I think I just moved it far enough away for it to be a non-issue.

Hid and submitted Road 33 today.

Tried to get 86 placed yesterday but daughter had other plans for me…hope to have it in place today. Page should look something like this:

    WRR 86

    Wisconsin Rustic Road 86

Drive with caution and be prepared to stop!
Please be aware that the Glacial Drumlin Bike route crosses Waterville Road.

    The Roads of the route:
When you arrive you will have driven on part of a 7.3 mile route which has been designated as Wisconsin Rustic Road number 86. This route includes portions of Waterville Road, Town Road G, County ZZ, Strawberry and Piper Roads and runs from US 18 to WIS 59.

    Fluff:
WRR 86 provides nice views of the Kettle Moraine State forest as well as sections of open prairie as it rises and falls over this picturesque landscape. Take your time and enjoy the drive or park your car and bike or hike one of the trails which intersect the road.

    Highlights:
    • The Ice Age Trail here features a (very) small glimpse of exposed Niagara Escarpment as it makes its way from Wisconsin to the mighty falls which shares the escarpments name.
    • The Scuppernong Hiking Trail has many routes and wanders through a heavily wooded forest with a mix of mostly gentle grades and rolling hills.
    • The Glacial Drumlin Bike Trail crosses this route on its 52 mile journey from Waukesha to Cottage Grove. A trail pass must be obtained to bike this path (hiking is free).
