Does anyone have or know where I can get a map of the Ice Age Trail that I can use in my GPS and in some mapping software (Delorme, Google Earth, Mapsource, etc)? I can’t seem to find any anywhere.

They do not allow that information to get out. You will need to buy their maps and guides if you want the whole trail….and that will be on paper.

Lived in WI all my life…never have I seen a Badger…now if this was a watch a woodpecker study I’d not have to go further than the side of my house at 6am.
I would request that if there will be water caches either as the part of the main 50 or as additional (bonus) caches that there be some kind of advance notice here or on the cache page…particularly if swimwear or a boat will be required to attempt them.
Myself I totally purge the GPS every week or two and load fresh. I do this as there always new caches being created and old ones being archived or being disabled. I’d personally hate to seek a cache which has been disabled just because three weeks ago when I loaded it into my GPS it was still OK….I think my limit is like 5,000 caches.

Well, I’m slowly getting all the virtuals done in the state the easy but unfortunate way. This sucks..sure we could go to waymarking.com but thats another site, another login, more stats to keep up on, probably another forum where people P&M about stupid stuff…
waymarking.com = LAME.
Loss of virts = SHAME.@-cheeto- wrote:

Yea, I claim responsibility for these 🙁
Don’t be so hard on yourself. The owner archived them not you!
LOL…. 😆

I love them and respect them. It also thrills me that one of the cemetery caches I have has brought attention to a gentleman that many would have forgotten, but now gets visitors all the time even though nobody knows who he is! One Unknown Man: GCT0MR 😀
I recall this one…did it in 2006. There is no reason to forget folks….whether they are known or unknown.
I stopped by the event today and found the perms…not many things in geocaching beats the hunt with the smell of a campfire in the air. Thanks to all who helped at the scouting event. I always love to see new folks in the game….I visited the booth briefly to say hello to one of the WGAs most prolific and modest volunteers. 😛
But hurry as if this is correct you have very limited time…..
NOTE: All 2010 Geo-Campout shirt orders must be received no later than May 3rd, 11:59pm. We may have a few extra shirts available for purchase at the campout, but unless you place your order by May 3rd, we cannot guarantee we will have a shirt available in your size.

Question….. Would any teams that own a Garmin Oregon or Colorado or another GPSr device that can do Wherigo caches be willing to participate in a team Wherigo activity on Friday the 13th evening of the event?
I think setting one up would be awesome but trying to organize groups to do it might be problematic….might be best to let folks team up on their own…if people have an interest they will find a way.
Hmmm…. you could be right. I’ll keep brainstorming other ideas for Friday night.
Not saying don’t do it, just not to try and set up groups…let folks set themselves up with people with a Wherigo devise…people will find a way if they are interested.

To be honest this might be tough to do as there are going to potentially be upwards of 800 people in the area and there could be hundreds of folks there Friday night interested in the Wherigo. With limited GPS units and at an hour to run the program you might run into problems. Also getting a working Wherigo up and running is really hard just look at the logs for the one up in Hudson…. GC23AMC. After the event (where I suspect there was inside information about locations given out), it was one crashing cartridge after another with many folks unable to run the program.

I think is a fantastic way to set this up and may create a less stressful environment for folks. I “plan” on a 100+ weekend….
Looking at the numbers registering for the event, this year this could be beyond MEGA.
So to be clear, the caches are to be released around noon on Friday….registration begins at noon as well where I will get the stamp book. So if I wanted to I could find all 50 caches on Friday and hunt other non event caches / be all social on Saturday?
If this is true I’m really lovin the new extended hours and plan to camp out on Friday night….and perhaps Saturday night as well.
