Thank you for creating this thread.
Could a MOD please “sticky” this topic until after the event as this is Wisconsin’s showcase event and as such it deserves a bit of special attention here on the boards.
what section of land?

I have lots of equipment but it’s a bit out of my caching range at 2.5 hours away. Looks like fun though. I heard that a river cache was going to be placed near me but as yet it has not materialized….granted there are always those pesky woodpeckers in Johnson Creek.
You must drive really slow. It’s 90 miles for me and you live closer. If it will make you happy I’ll try and place some canoe/kayak hides this summer. I have an idea for a series that will not be accessible by land. Three to four hides making it worth getting your watercraft out Also I’m letting the cat out of the bag, but there will be REAL water hides at the WB Event this year that will only be accessible with a canoe or kayak.
When I punched it into Google maps and let it route me, it was actually 2.25 hours according to Google (to the nearest city)
….I’d love some water caches…place away!
Sweet about WB event…I’m beginning to plan that already. I have a half day on that Friday.
(….sorry for the off topic)

If the ticks are out there in force this year, just wait until the Spring campout at Bong! Bong is notorious for its tick population!
Which is why I’m not attending…
Sounds like even more interest than might have been anticipated….now how to get these to the folks who want them if they do not make it to the next WGA event.

This record didn’t pass the sniff test for me. It looks like all of the caches were placed a couple of days before the record was “broken”, and now all the caches are archived? Seems a little suspicious to me.
I kind of feel the same way….there are threads about this over at GC….but, whatever floats their boats. Personally I was amazed that the caches were allowed to be published in the first place.
The best part of caches with the WSQ designation (and part of the reason for its inception) is that you can easily ignore them if you find them distasteful.
Mine didn’t render the page correctly…forget if it was yesterday or today.
😕Some of my favorite caches are in cemetery’s and I have also not seen any pointedly disrespectful hides in them. But if you have, do email the owner or post a “Needs Archive” note on the page if you really feel the cache is disrespectful. A reviewer is notified automatically and can look at the details.
Very often I just skip the caches I cant find parking for (sometimes the skipped visit is based strictly on a map view; sometimes upon a physical visit when the parking / trail is not apparent)….coords would better my odds of visiting a cache with questionable access.
The local Sentry had them….(before they went out of business like half of the companies in town).
Their customer service continues to amaze me…

Members of the younger generation hypothetically said this could work IF the cacher did not try to turn the phone on after it got trashed. Just sayin’. Is all.
Yep the LAST thing you want to do is power it up and see if it works while its wet. You will likely short it out. Let it dry for about two days or so first (the description above does seem to meet with success often times).
