I have seen this done before…but I cannot tell you which cache as that would be a spoiler.

10 events in a day is going to slip in to Flash Mob territory. But over 2 days, it could work.

I would agree that perhaps 5 on Sat and 5 on Sun would be better…

If folks really wanted to do this I could check my (wife’s) calendar and put an hour aside to hold such an event in Ocono…though the thought of being THAT social is a bit daunting I think I’d survive it.

Maybe 10 separate themes…(costumes at places)…just all around silliness a little at each location.

I like this idea! If we try for this I will do one in Delafield, a scateboard party theme at their skate park!

mine would be bike (bicycle) based….

No one asked, but if you want to try for one of the “lackey attended” events, you better start asking now. Note that reviewers don’t count as lackeys. (We are sub-lackeys.)

Not to us yer not…to us you are the unsung heros of Wisconsin Geocaching….

    Thanks for the clarification.

Reflecting on this….I had one Puzzle that was VERY hard to solve. I was really pleased with the puzzle and thought it was perhaps my best puzzle…but once I got the feeling that the solves came from answers being passed around I archived it.

I archived it because I no longer got the satisfaction from the cache as an owner. I liked that folks actually solved the puzzle….when it was clear to me that folks were not getting out of the puzzle what I expected, the cache lost value for me….and so it passed into the land of the archived.

So yes as an owner of the puzzles there is a certain degree of fun that comes from having folks do the puzzle the way you wish it done….if that pleasure no longer exists than it is time to say good bye to those puzzles.

The main reason I like to create simple puzzles (not that I have done any recently), is that there is less inclination or need for folks to cheat the puzzle solve.

…same here I have puzzles that I solved three years ago and still haven’t made the find….granted they are still in play and available. But in the end if I wait too long or make the solve just before it goes missing (possibly for good), then I’m just out of luck. Timing is everything sometimes.

Oh the other hand I think there should be a bit more owner responsibility when you have a puzzle; making sure that the cache is well maintained is important as there is extra work involved in the solving process. I think the harder the puzzle the more responsible an owner should be for the maintenance of the actual physical cache.

But in the end, caches go missing every day. Part of the game is that sometimes you will solve a puzzle and not find it, not every cache will be found just because you look for it. If I found every cache I looked for I wouldn’t bother looking for them anymore.

I was looking over your caches and I can hardly believe how many of your hides I did manage to find.

I had some really good memories of some of those hides…like the one I had literally in my hands…then placed it back log unsigned and promptly fell 15 feet to the ground….I have yet to log that one. I was hoping to some day get back to it. I wish I could post the pic of me at GZ but alas it is a huge spoiler…butt (yes the two T Butt) it was a great pic.

…and yes there are those other puzzles I felt smug about solving only to fail in the finding part. One thing that can be said is that you left a cacher with something original…..perhaps too much of a good thing is no longer good?

In any case thanks…and I hope to see you reenter after some deserved time off.

I’m confused… I thought you were it and they were you but marc was himself and some how that guy who hid behind a fake moniker and put a should be archived log on all those caches in the state returned hiding behind another fake moniker.

Ya I remember that guy…he asked that one of my caches be archived as well…man how much time must have been spent doing all that…gotta love sock puppets.

Maybe 1 event for each of the 10 years?

So who will be holding a 10 year event?

Perhaps a string of them across the state by different cachers with staggered start times….like an event power trail.

Or like a round robin. Everyone starts at one event , then moves to the next one. Seems I read you just need a minimum of 10 people.

    Exactly what I was thinking… 😈

It’s a great trail…even in the dark (and rain). There is at least one puzzle on trail that you should look at before you set out GC1B59V .
