Yeah, it doesn’t look like those two caches would be published as is today. As I mentioned it was a case where geoaware had two submissions at the same time and we and Wiskey33 didn’t really know what was going on until they had published both and then tried to sort it out.

I’ve actually thought about archiving ours in the past because of the subject overlap, but just decided why bother? And, based on the supportive PM’s I’ve received from past finders about the cache, received since this thread took a rather unexpected turn, I certainly going to keep it active now! 😀

I plan to do those caches (Maribel Caves) this July….woot.

    My WSQ 900 series……….

I love those and have done quite a many of them…I still owe you a pic for one or two of them in fact. I believe one is a horse and rider… I guess that is one place I could look…maybe run a PQ for those…still need some more though….

and on that note is there a way to run a bookmark query and exclude the finds you have already made? Keeping in mind I don’t use GSAK. I’m guessing there is not a way to do this and if not then the bookmark has little value.

Might want to change the text a bit to say “placed by a member of the Wisconsin Geocaching Association” as that would deflect some possible liability which could (if the tides and stars lined up just wrong) occur.

Obviously we do not mean that the WGA actually placed the caches or are responsible for them so such a statement would be more accurate as well.

I really like the idea though and we could sell them (or give them) at WGA events as well…I’d buy several. I do also like the idea to have two sizes on each sticker which could be cut.

I have found silver coins twice in my travels. One was a coin which was a full ounce of .999% silver. I had to make a second trip to the cache in order to trade even for it. I did vote no though….as it is all of the coins I have out are missing…not that I’d let a coin like that travel.

I saw that pipe monument, and was tempted to post another 900 cache.

That is an amazing marker. My father has been a machinist for about 40 years…and my brother for almost 25 years. That marker would be a very fitting tribute to their life’s work.

I enjoy cemetery hides; they are some of my favorites. I love to see the history and art. The more rural the better. Not much beats an old hilltop cemetery out in the country.

    FYI

GC is going to do some work on Tuesday…

    Scheduled Downtime, Tuesday, February 23

On Tuesday, February 23rd starting at 8 PM Pacific Time (GMT -8), we’ll be performing upgrades to the Geocaching.com database server in anticipation of spring and summer geocaching traffic. The scheduled maintenance is expected to take 4 hours. We’ll post updates to the Groundspeak forum during this time.

I only did this once (in Hudson)…and in my defense the trail looked like a road in winter….and it wasn’t well marked.

AS owner of the previous mentioned pirate cache on Pewaukee lake, I need to say it has simply dissappeared. I plan to replace it this weekend, but please check the listing.

Caches on that island vanish often.

I remember reading on the GC forums some years ago about a similar topic.

I think this might be the one:

believe it or not I have seen much worse than that tongue when I was younger while walking through a frozen swamp. Definitely twisted though.

While cachin though…not much out of the norm…drug paraphernalia and the like.

A liar’s cache is one which is generally easy to find but asks folks to lie in their log saying how hard it was or that they couldn’t find it or to make up some kind of story. This type of cache is no longer allowed as the liars portion is considered an ALR (Additional Logging Requirement) if a lie is REQUIRED to log the cache…. Not sayin it is one but agreeing it is a possibility.
