That is so cool. Congrats to both of you. 😛

I wish the wherigo player would be updated to something that doesn’t freeze.
Agreed but I doubt they will be making many (any?) changes to that part of the programming. 😕
More updates came out (again) last night for the Garmin Oregon series. I really like this update as the unit now shows the cache type icon on the list of closest caches along with the cache names….very cool. (And in case you missed it in a previous update, ECs are now shown with the correct Icon).
They keep tweeking the little things and boy do those little changes add up nicely. This is edging ever closer to a perfect 10 on the way cool GPS scale.
Changes made from version 2.71 to 2.81:
* Added date/time to Elevation Plot page when plot future is active.
* Added display of icons to the lists in Where To? > Waypoints and the Geocaching application.
* Added phone numbers when available to POI review pages.
* Fixed issue where vehicle position would switch between actual and on-road locations. Here’s one I found ( GC25F0 ) on the campus of the University of California San Diego in the Geisel Library (Dr Seuss for those who don’t recognize the name) Here is a picture of the amazing location and a pic of the walkway which leads down to the campus proper.
If you are in the area the night cache ( GCME1Z ) on campus is a can’t be missed experience.

It also gets a lock in all rooms of my house including the basement. My “home coordinates” on the website are inside my bedroom.
I judge a GPS as good if it passes the “bathtub test”.

How can a GPS get a satellite lock indoors?
AHHHH – There’s the challenge. The couple that I’ve done have provided clues to find the final once indoors. “Near room 321” for instance.
One directed me to a book, one to a store (that one might be hard to get past reviewers these days) and one directed me to a bar area.

If you have a Garmin nothing can stop you…. 😈
Most of these have clues to the location where the cache will be found…you typically do not use the GPS once you enter the building.I adopted mine (virtual) from her on August 8, 2007.
I have only found three thus far: one in San Diego, one in Minneapolis and one in Milwaukee.
very cool.
GS has tried to stop this….here is a thread in the German forums which deals with the topic…if your German is rusty paste the link into Google language tools.

…doesn’t seem to have stopped the practice though…I just keep deleting them when I catch them.
Well clearly GS doesn’t want to lose $ by suspending the armchair loggers…but I think it really sucks that they (loggers) pull this crap.
People who use double negatives when speaking….”I ain’t got nothing” for example. So, if you ain’t got nothing, you must have something right? I really question our system of education if it turns out folks who speak like this.
Another favorite I hear often (and as an aside the “T” in often is silent) around here is, ” It didn’t print nothing.” Really so then what printed out? 🙄

Might take a little effort but just ’cause it’s snowed doesn’t mean all the slobs have gone into hibernation. Still plenty of McD’s bags and wrappers to go around. Even an occasional beer or soda can too.
Every little bit helps!
The main drag in Hudson along the river tends to get a bit garbagy (and there are a few caches along the fence not too far from the harbor) but other than that I haven’t really noticed a ton of garbage in the parks….but I will really try to make this event as I have yet to get the CITO icon on my page. Thanks for setting it up.
Looks like a fun event….long drive though…maybe if the snow is lacking…(kinda hard to CITO in the snow anyway).
I’ll check the calendar. I see I have some catching up to do in the area again.
