Wow…love the name BTW.
I can see my rank slipping away already….@sandlanders wrote:
Interesting to see in the Active Caches part of the Recent Logs section that, except for the top spot (WB 2010 Cache Bash), all caches listed are Battleship series caches.
Well allow me to keep that going with another 40 finds on those this weekend…..they sure are fun…
Congrats on 3,000….. 😛
Dems some serious numbers.Found 23 of these this weekend…had a blast! I really love to see the different style of the different cache placers….A series like this really breathes new life into the game. 😛
I did 6 this morning…plan to do 11 more tomorrow morning (in Waukesha) ….looks like I will have to do this in chunks as I’m having a hard time getting a caching partner to do a long haul trip….
On Black Friday? Is that even allowed? Unfortunately that is my sons birthday…I so wanted to go along on this mission too. Maybe there will be a short bus for me to get on with a couple of folks at another time.
last I saw the caches closest to me still had no find logs….and I’m too lazy to go find them at the moment…I’d have to drive nearly 4 miles to search for them!
Ya I just checked…there are 5 of them within 10 miles of me and none of them have an online log yet.
A trip like this is almost worth burning a vacation day for.
I didn’t realize these were all down my way until I got them on a map.
I could definitely be involved in a road trip. Dates?????I’d be interested in this but keep me as an alternate as I will be on the opposite end of where I would assume you’d want to begin…(unless by chance I’m up near you for the given weekend…which there is a better than average chance of happening of late due to a new family member in your area).

Now that this series has been published, I wanted to write a quick note so fellow cachers would know the effort that went into it. This series was the collaborative effort of 9 different geocaching teams: AuntieNae, sr18, GoldieDiggers, Pawn of Chaos, GR8 Eyes, Greendale SRT, Doctor Dolittle, Ranger Rob, and thewickey7. I first pitch the idea to sr18 on our way home from GeoWoodstock back in May. He loved the idea and immedialtely started recruiting other members. I will not say that the whole process was not painful and frustrating at times but well worth it. Thanks also goes to reviewer WisKid for all his patience and guidance. We hope you enjoy the finished product. Cache On!And here is the bookmark to track the series:
Battleship, the cache series, was launched on 15 October 2009 and consists of 106 caches. Of those, 100 are traditional and 6 are unknowns. Partial coordinates for the unknowns are found in some of the traditionals… but which ones? Happy hunting.

That’s a lot of caches!!
I happened to be at my computer around midnight when these were all released….my instant messenger just kept sounding….there are over thirty listings from at least 4 different geocachers…
Seems as if some folks were waiting much longer than me…
From a CG forum Mod:
“It figures that this would happen when we (GSP) are all in meetings! The process for new PQs did indeed go down, but it has been restarted. There is only a small backlog, so you should see them shortly.
Sorry for the problems and thanks for your patience!”
“Patience” though…really? I lost that about 20 or so site outages ago.
(Sorry for the negativity) (Don’t mean to harsh any mellows)
Got mine after about 2 hours…..
