👿 Awe come on! 👿
…It’s not like I need a PQ to run or anything……Another good resource for you could be a local-area college geology teacher.
For my Rock Elm listing, I wanted to be certain it was factually correct so I asked a local expert (he really was…he wrote most of the papers on the feature I was working on).
Certainly local instructors would know the area and be able to quickly point you in the right direction. The person I contacted was very helpful and seemed quite happy that I asked for his help / advise on the listing.
Now I have two working versions of my listing…but neither work the way I want them to….UG! Gee I wonder why these are so few and far between?

Oh I remember that game….I had to turn off all those notifications and requests (that and Farmville)…..you do know those games are seriously cutting into your geocaching time…
I just turned off facebook…much simpler.
You can do that?

WOW
I just this morning got the one I submitted last Friday….6 days?
Maybe GC owes me some of my $ back?@hogrod wrote:
Garmin just released the Dakota Series(smaller version of Oregon) & it doesn’t have any Wherigo Features. Either they excluded this in a somewhat cheaper model or they may be phasing this out.
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if it was being phased out. It’s been forever since GC has made any updates to the creation software; actually since:
Wherigo Builder (Alpha)
Wherigo Builder for Windows
Version: 2.0.5129.5086
Last Update: 5/29/2008Alpha still? Really? No updates to the horrible build software in 17 months? Now does this look like something the Powers over at GC really want to keep going with? I would think these will find themselves as a grandfathered cache type.

OK I have one created.
I tested it and it does work on my unit over in the park…but it does not work like it does in my head so back to the keyboard to get it right…it’s close though. We had the Opps5 clan out last week and they told us you were still out cachin right up until the surgery. Glad it went well.
🙁

Cool thread… I’m enjoying reading the stories. 😀
When I first started (and even now, occasionally), people thought I was PharmTeam’s daughter (nope, no relation).
When I first saw your name that’s what I thought.
Most everyone already knows…I’m Lostby7 because I lost a bike race by 7 seconds and I like the tag because it reminds me to try a little harder.
As an aside I know I could have won that race if I hadn’t been run off the road on a down hill by a passing car….but then who would I be? I think I would have chosen some variation of “TheGate” as that was my online gaming name for many years.

are you building just a wherigo, or are you doing the cache hybrid thingy?
It would be the hybrid with a (well stocked) Full size at the end.

Having gone thru the demo on the Oregon (well, trying to go thru the demo, never finished it), I think this is something the kids would take to, but I have no interest or inclination in programming one.
I hear ya…this is tough but that’s what I thought when I went back to school for computers….oh wait that was tough too (I dropped out shortly after all the kids in my class were about 4 years ahead of me in database building and other “basic” skills).

can you do the where i go’s with a netbook? I dont have a pocket pc and my gps doesnt support them, they look cool but I think equipment lacking is going to be my problem in doing them.
I’m not sure but there is a growing population of Garmin Oregons and Colorados out there…enough for me to spend the time to get a listing or two published. Folks can always meet up with a team who has the right equipment to do the listings.
Ah INABTN is back up. I went 49 days from 11/30/08 to 1/17/09 without a find….somehow the little plastic containers seem to lose their draw from time to time….but ya that FaceBook think…now that’s a killer (we all know how much like to talk about myself).
