It’s actually a neat city and Centennial Olympic Park is pretty hoppin in the summer months. Also if you make it out of the city at all there are cotton fields…have you ever actually seen a cotton field? It’s a sea of cotton balls (on extremely thorny bushes). Now set those power trails on a bike path and I’ll go for the two wheeled self propelled record. I’d ride all day and night. Going past the point of exhaustion is really fun and highly underrated.

25-27 was the most we did in a day. We did it on the Bob series in Illinois. Had a lot of fun, but back then it was about the numbers. Now it’s about the people and places.
I had plans to do BOB but it folded before I got out there…..would have been a fun day.
doing the math:
This means that including the DNFs they were at a new cache every 3.29 minutes…..assuming that each cache was exactly 524 away…how much time does it take to drive to each cache and how much time left to find and sticker each cache? I’m not quite sold on this actually happening….and yet they found time to eat and drink.
If it is for real I really am amazed.
yesh!
That is nothing short of amazing!
…and no thanks that many signpost and guard rails would have sent me over the edge…I’d likely never cache again.@sandlanders wrote:
Nice to know I’m not alone. Thanks, LB7!
(or were you just saying that to be nice???)…nope. I’m not perfect (no matter how much I claim that I am).

OK, I’ve recreated a lot of the cache page, except for the time-consuming stuff, but feel free to reply for my next “DOH” time. And, please, someone else reply, “Been there; done that”. 😳 😉
OK…been there done that. Being anal-compulsive and constantly updating and rewriting stuff with many pages open at once…..hey it happens.
Images insert nicely as a document but when you look at the HTML code of the page the HTML Image code changes so that it doesn’t show up right as a web page so you’ll still need to add the image code by hand.
There are actually lots of ways to add an image…one way is:
FOR CENTER of an image the following can be pasted in the HTML:

FOR ALIGN LEFT:

To find the image location right click on the image (then you may have to click on “properties”) and copy it’s location. In the above example substitute the “http………………jpg” part for your specific image’s address.

Thanks LB7! That looks like it has the advantage of not putting in all the extraneous bits that other doc editors like Word chuck in. And it’s free!
Yep it looks like very clean code…..not quite sure if there is an easy way to add images using the program….that part may still need to be edited in. I only discovered this application an hour or so ago.
I’ve used google docs quite a bit… In google docs just click the insert menu and select images, I think it should work to add images to the doc though I’m not sure if it will work the way you want with HTML, you would have to check.

Yes we wouldn’t want common folks using the properties they pay every day for.
09/03/2009 at 2:18 am in reply to: Ever been fingerprinted by police for caching? Oh Lucky me. #1913438The same thing (finding a safe) just happened to another cacher a few days ago…they posted about it in this thread…you could post your story there as well…
http://forums.groundspeak.com/GC/index.php?showtopic=94899The other day I was searching for a cache at night at the end of a dead end road. I see something black and red with my flashlight and go around to see what it was. It turned out to be a duffle bag which was zipped up. I could tell that there was something in it and curiosity got the best of me so I had to open it. Inside was a lock box which had been broken into filled with jewelry boxes, all full. There was another jewelry box with a bunch of necklaces and rings as well. Included in one of the boxes was a diamond engagement ring that looked to be about 2 karats! There was also a locket with the word “Mom” on the outside and photos of her and her children inside. I put the treasure in my Jeep, finished finding the cache, and headed off to the police station. Hopefully, they will reunite the woman with her stolen jewelry.
saw that but thought ….I’ll let someone else go first on this one……having the avail photo space is a nice addition though…..

I tried to find a thread about this, but came up empty. My wife is heading up-nort to watch her niece and nephews for a few days. She wants to cache up in the Spencer/Marshfield area while gone. I want to do some caching while staying around home. Is there any sort of issue about each of us logging finds under our account from opposite ends of the state at the same time? Might look suspicious as armchair caching or something like that.
Whats your take….let me know, good or bad.
Happens quite often….it boils down to play and log as you see fit.

Once I found the caches, how do I delete the from my GPS?
The manual doesn’t touch on deleting caches and navigating around the menus I can’t find anything. Can anyone help? Thanks. The manual is crap.
You need to go into the GPX folder on the unit (after it is connected to your computer) and delete the file. It’s an all or none deletion though. You cannot just delete a few caches*Plug into computer >open OREGON FOLDER > open GARMIN > open GPX FOLDER > delete appropriate GPX file.
*You can add several GPX files on the unit though so you can pick and choose which file you want to delete. I could add a GPX file containing only EarthCaches and one containing only Multis….at the end of the day I could choose to delete both files and all waypoints or either the EC file or the Multi file….also if you use the SEND TO GPS function on each web page those show up as their own GPX file as well so you could choose to just delete one single cache in that way….
