LB7 are you willing to share your wording? As in, I would gladly update our EC’s so we are the same across the state?
I have worded it differently at differently caches….I will come up with a uniform wording. But….still there are times where stricter reqs are needed…it’s a case by case situation. I’ll post something here later tonite.

It’s frustrating, but it just gives us an opportunity to re-visit some of our BC interests, LOL. You know……you can hike in the woods with a pair of binoculars and don’t even have to look for a cache? It’s true!
Plus, I have this baby afghan that needs to be finished pronto!
I saw an awesome Wisconsin birding book yesterday….I so wanted to buy it….but alas I had to buy dress clothes instead….(but the new clothes really don’t go with my yellow hat). As a further aside I tore my shirt pretty good attempting a cache on the way to the store so there I was trying on sportcoats in a ripped t-shirt…what a smuck. But on the plus side I can now tell the difference between a Sandhill Crane and a Great Blue Heron. Where was I, oh other things to do….I guess there are some.
More food for thought….Geoaware is not at all happy about the photo reqs made by some EC owners (demanding that the cachers face be in the pic for example) and this req may see some refinements in the future…so being leinient on this aspect may be desirable. I have already reworded several of my listings and would encurage others to do the same where possible…it makes it easier on everyone involved.

Umm, you guys know there is an email address where you can direct your complaints? [email protected]? I can pretty much guarantee that no one in Seattle is reading these forums.
Sry…just venting..you are correct, if I want to complain I should do it to someone who is in charge. Now that I have the Oregon I store 500 caches with discriptions on the unit so I won’t get the newest caches if the site is down but my caching life won’t have to grind to a halt if they are down for an hour or 3.

How about just taking along an old GPS receiver to use as a prop when one needs to be shown in a photo? Doesn’t even have to be a working one.
I could do that…I have two old units, but dragging extra stuff on trail….not for me.
Is there a place where we can see how often the site IS WORKING?
This is crap…they need to make some real changes….@AuntieNae wrote:

I think it is going to take education of EarthCache owners ..That is half the reason I posted the question…to show, inform and get EC owners to think about the new technology and how it will affect us as EC owners.

It’s amazing you have time to cache with all you do for geocaching in the great state of Wisconsin.

Finally decided to join WGA. Been caching only a few months, and got in to caching because of coworker OC1GuyWI.
Hoping to make the Geo Picnic this year.
Be patient with my finds and hides as I am still learning.
I love the caching game thus far!

Welcome to the fold…take your time and learn as you go. Feel free to ask as many questions here as you want. We as a group have seen / know just about everything there is about geocaching.

I volunteered for Saturday morning and Mrs. TBC volunteered for Saturday afternoon, so not much time left…
Thanks so much for that …and thanks to all the other folks making this event filled weekend possible…I’m gonna owe some volunteer time next year I think; this year I’m going for broke…….
GC needs to trade the hampsters in for prairie dogs….perhaps even buy a mule or two to keep the wheels turning.

Since we only live 25 minutes away finding many of the new caches is not a priority, they’ll still be there on Monday. We plan on doing most of our Saturday geocaching in the Kewaskum area and will grab any of the new ones up that way. We plan on attending all three days and the social aspects of the weekend will take priority over geocaching. That’s the nice part of already having found more this year than all of last year.
It’s about an hour for me so geocaches are going to be found as I hate to have to drive all that way to go another round with the local tupperware…if other geocachers happen to get in the way, then “howdy and well met.” I think the only real down time I will have for sayin hello will be after booklet turn in on Sat until they anounce the winners….then it’s off on the road again hunting down some film cans in need of attention……If possible I’d love to set a new one day record…I think I’m at 55 or so (set last year at this event).
No matter what, fun will be had and geocachers will be met. Hope to see you and the fam there Bill….but don’t be offended if I wave and run…….. 😈
Mathman….wow You sure know how to sell me on a location.
Soooo many EarthCaches…..
I have to say this area is in the lead at the moment but I still would like to hear of others around the country (I still need the wife’s permission afterall and she likes options.)Thanks everyone for such great suggestions….keep em comin’

I’ve never been to a MEGA before or even one that had a shot at becoming MEGA, So, I am wondering if it is going to be akin to trying to get a Brat at Lambeau Field at Halftime, standing in line to sign a log at the new caches to get that extra ticket for the raffle.
so in addition to the number of caches you are shooting for, are your plans to go for the new ones or to avoid the crowds and go after the numerous other caches and forego the raffle chances.
for me, the new water caches may be a choice, but I kinda do dislike large crowds. I may chase the older caches. Gotta start looking at the Card Sharks series again.
Actually last years event wasn’t too bad I only ran into about 15 teams in the 50 caches I did…but there are LOTS more folks this year. Geobash last year wasn’t too bad either with my son and I only running into maybe a half a dozen folks on trail.
I think they did a good thing at West Bend’s event this year by spreading the caches out further so the chance of “Lines” at caches will be lessened….
I’m going after the old ones on Friday and Sunday and the new ones on Saturday….I’m hoping for good weather and 100 finds.
