I would caution against covering the tick with any chemicals…they may regurgitate into your bloodstream if irritated by the chemical. They should be pulled out.
Congrats! And, I look forward to finding many many more of your hides. I love a team who hides and seeks. Cheers!

The latest beta release 2.96 is available for download and packs some very much requested enhancements. I’ll be downloading it and testing a little later on this week.
Just a note on this…the “300” file will not open…it is corrupt or incomplete…I’m going to try later in the week.
At the moment the forums are down as well as the main site…oh joy. I didn’t really want to go cachin anyway…OK I do have 500 in the ol’ Oregon but I did want to catch up on my gossip…and find out where a local cache vanished to…I hate when they get retracted before I can hunt them down….
…and now they are both back up. Oh the price of expansion. Now if I could only get some of these new folks to place caches in my neck of the world.
I’d love to get some of those puzzles off my radar but it’s too overwhelming. I don’t even know where to start. Is there a bookmark of easier puzzles? I get up there fairly often but ignore the puzzles because there is just too many of them.
Great story and pictures.
The area is fairly restrictive in terms of allowing placements….I’d consider leaving the city and exploring a bit.
In town I did like what an Honest Man Sees GC8406 and it’s neighbor cache Observation Point GC3850. These are both Virtuals.
I found one of the caches Mr. Greenthumb mentioned and was 80 feet off with my coords (I had the original inncorrect coords in my GPS when I went out). I was a bit wowed that they hid the cache using Google Earth/Maps….and I sure hope that is not a sign of things to come. I wonder if GC should think about stepping in and adding a box on the submission page asking what type GPS was used to hide the cache thus providing a flag for the reviewers if they select “Other” or some other telling choice.
There is a nice link on the left called “Hiding a cache.” That is a good place to start learning. Also Geocaching.com offers lots of tips and rules.
Here it is :
http://wi-geocaching.com/modules.php?name=Wiki&pagename=Hiding%20A%20CacheThe sticking in of the hand is the main reason I end up DNFing so many caches….I’m a coward. Sorry to hear about the shots.

arriving 2 hours before the first pitch at Miller Park to watch the Brewers without bringing brats and burgers, instead you bring your gps and camera for all of the earthcaches in the parking lot…
Guilty 😳
I to have seen LOTS of folks out roadside and many bags awaiting pickup.
That dern Bunny left some here this morning….next year I’m letting the dog know Mr. Bunny is fair game.
The send to GPS button does send the cache page with all page text and hints / logs to the Oregon.
Another interesting feature (I’m not sure if this is unique to the Oregon)….the cache pages it loads into the unit includes several of the last finder logs…BUT it also includes all logs you yourself have posted on that cache even if it was a couple of years ago…pretty cool. I had DNFd a cache twice over a space of three years and my attempts showed up along with the last couple of finders logs.
