Bought em each for $27 over the price I could have gotten if I were able to buy them in the first 5 minutes before the M&%^$r F24987G ticket brokers bought them all….oh do I sound ticked…you bet! 👿 👿 👿

I really enjoyed the classical music in the background.
I keep thinking about posting a video….but then I’d need to film something first…….Hummmmm what to film………..I actually did my first film editing job a couple days ago for a work project.

I think we need more Geocaching videos….great hat BTW….and a cool cache location.

I sent you a video but I think it went to your work address. You might like it. or your Brother in law will.

I got it…I’m actually working a bit from home at the moment….

Does this mean you are planning on going this year?

LOL…no. But I am still waiting for pictures from the show…I think there’s a “what happens at Buffett stays at Buffett” clause so I may be waiting for some time yet…..The tix are for my wife and her sister / hubby (and friends if we can come up with more than three).

    that’s a shame.

I just submitted a “Final” proposal in the discussions thread on this matter.

Is this idea being discussed? Maybe we need an area where the Board can communicate to the group what things it is currently working on / discussing so the rest of know if our ideas matter.

There is nobody to ask permission of. The site is completely fenced in but can be done from inside your vehicle. Now what do I do? According to the placement guidelines, I have to have permission. Any suggestions?

Someone owns the land. As pointless as the requirement seems at times, you will need to get permission from the landowner; someone put up that fence……PM me with some details and I’ll see if I can help.

If I can talk my way out of the wedding I will be there with one of my Kayaks! My hope is that the water caches will only be at one or two locations…taking the craft on and off the car takes quite a bit of time and time is short if I want to hit all the caches….which I do.

It is frustrating, but I guess it’s good we have this place to vent away! Hope you can get some resolution before too long!

That is all I’m doing….It’s just frustrating….I just keep thinking….”THERE’S NO CONTAINER!!!”

It looks at the moment like I will need Village, IAT and County permission for my latest EC. I’m still trying to determine if I really do need the County permission as I have been told…but if it turns out I need that too I’m going throw up my hands, drop the last wp and shorten the hike from 1.5 miles to .5 miles (and make the listing less special). In this case the hike was intended to showcase different types of growth in and around a small marsh…But honestly securing all the permissions for this one is quickly getting old.

Typically my permissions have been easier…lots of village board meetings, and 2-3 emails to secure a permission…not sure why this one is so bothersome….it should have been easy to get permission as it’s on the Ice Age Trail…I’ve gotten permission more quickly and easily in Natl forests, State Parks and even in SNAs. To be fair in this process the IAT folks were the first (only at this point) to grant permission.

Geoaware, along with the Geology society, just wants to make sure that EarthCaches are NOT placed in SENSITIVE areas, therefore asks for the permission to place. Sure… there are no containers, but many places don’t even want any activity. This has been a gripe since the beginning. As with the WiDNR…the don’t want anyone walking around in sensitive ares, YET they advertise them on the WiDRN websites. GO figure!!

LB7.. I just got a note from the gal who started up the IATCC thing. She did my Silva Prometorium…her very FIRST EC!!I can look up her ID for you…if that is of any help. Otherwise, I know AuntieNae has a lot of involvement with that also.

She (Dolly) is already involved in my permissions process…as is nearly everyone else in the state…did I forget to ask you for permission? I’m sure it’s in your email somewhere….

i found an intriguing cache where you have to find a cache hidden by someone with every letter and number at the start of their cacher name. how do i find cachers starting with Q, 2, 5, 9? using the **** in gc.com yields nothing.

    Care to share the listing?

So who is the person it was originally transferred to?

Where to Geoaware(?) …. get the name from?

I think there were two caches written on the same topic…the other one just got published first.

Sometimes the permissions get really complicated and create confusion.

Tell me about it. I’m dealing with a situation with two parties at the moment and both are saying I need permission from the other party….so even though they both would approve the listing they need me to get permission from the other party first…..since there can’t be two parties giving me permission first…I seem to be stuck in a holding pattern at the moment….permissions are a very convoluted thing.

    in reply to: help #1902474

So someone else wrote up a listing for the same feature? Or do they actually have the one YOU wrote?

I know it does happen where two parties are working on the same feature at the same time. I have run in to this first hand with AuntieNae; we were both working on the same feature up north. She was very gracious to allow me to publish the listing and was very helpful to me by providing additional information as well.

I try to let other EC developers know when I’m working on an EC in their neck of the woods so that this does not happen but…it still will be bound to occur from time to time.
