Sometimes a listing can get approved right away sometimes it takes weeks…and weeks. I think if it’s published in HTML it *might* get approved faster because it may be easier for them to read….?

In any case once the listing is approved the EarthCache folks will adopt it out to you; you will get an email asking if you will accept the listing. The only one who should own the listing is you and “Geoaware” (the reviewer). Geoaware is the one who you need to adopt the listing from.

So are you saying someone other than you and Geoaware now owns the listing you wrote up?

    Is this the listing: GC1MTXP
If so then campwebb12 will need to adopt the cache out to you by following the link below:

This project is still in the planning process…more will be released a bit later this year (with a possible mid summer kickoff). AuntieNae is in communications with the IAT folks. She will no doubt share the information once things get finalized.

I’m currently placing a few new ones on the IAT for inclusion in the new program…in fact I just completed the write up for one this morning and am currently seeking permissions. I have a second and third site in mind as well but have to pay those locations a visit first…

…also this thread may be better served if a mod moved it in the EarthCache section.

apparently they are adding the ability to pick your GPS device on your profile page. Interesting update to choose to implement.

It looks like it is a marketing tool. I’m guessing they will be getting some cache ( I mean cash) for turning over the information to GPS manufacturers. They do ask for ratings and reviews…hey if the extra money they make from this data helps keep the hamsters rolling so be it…but how do I add all three units?

…Or, they could be gathering the ratings out of the goodness of their hearts and for the betterment of all…. Looking at the new ratings pages (http://www.geocaching.com/gps/Manufacturer.aspx?id=17), it looks like they will be helping folks find good unite…and I so liked the big business marketing sellout theory….

For the first time, you can select the GPS device you use and rate its performance. In the future, these ratings will be available for anyone looking to buy a GPS device. Update your account details today!

I read that earlier; I should have posted that as well. It looks like they are making fairly large upgrades….er, um…I mean changes.

Putting it plainly, COTM is lame. I don’t know how many times I have had people email me to vote for a cache I have never even seen. Ya I’m gonna vote for your cache when I haven’t even seen it 🙄 ……I trust peoples favorite bookmarks way ahead of COTM in terms of a reliable source of worthy caches.
