likely not but then its been a few weeks since I was out….I had planned on lots of caching but the 2 feet of snow and below zero weather put a real damper on my plans.
I just looked at my stats; ZERO finds in December…I’m such a slacker.

For those not used to placing caches on DNR property, please see the cache notification form on the Hiding a Cache page. You will find that on “highly managed properties”, like state parks, taking the time to meet with the ranger and get a feel for what they don’t want you to do. This can save you a lot of time going back and forth to place and remove caches, and also lets the rangers know that you are not going to abandon your cache after the event. Overall, the DNR has a positive impression of geocachers, so do your best to keep up our reputation.
…once again I will point out that a few years back High Cliff had all caches in the park archived. Having placed a EC there last year, I can tell you that they are very careful with cache approvals…getting a large number approved there I think might be difficult. If you have plans to get caches in the park start the approval process early and keep reasonable expectations in terms of the amount that will be allowed.
This is my favorite Wisconsin park and where I found my first Geo-cash. I will make every effort to make it to this event….lord knows I’m in the area enough…. If you’re on the fence about attending, do come as the park is awesome.
Thanks for the update. I will have to adjust my EarthCache there to reflect the limited access….. 😕
I mean its really really cold.
it’s a weeny shrinker out there…..

Hey it was 3 years ago I was given a GPS for Christmas. Hooray for Christmas.
4 years ago at Christmas when I got mine….
Welcome to the forums.

Yes, Super EarthCache Guy, I do indeed think this confirms your earlier comment!
Who knows, if my current efforts for permission falls flat, I may ask you to draw upon your super powers, too!
Super EarthCache Guy is having some difficulty at the moment as well. There appears to be some kind of inference with my park approvals. Dr. EvilMuggle must be at it again….
…looks like I shall bark up a new tree…..or….heaven forbid actually pick up the phone and call someone to get permission…..that of course is a LAST resort solution.
What really kills me is that the park’s written policy states that Geocaching is allowed and no permits or permissions are required.

You are way up there on my Hero list too!!!

It’s a fake pine cone, no it’s a pigeon decoy, wait…It’s Super EarthCache Guy!Yes, it’s Super EarthCache Guy – strange visitor from another planet who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. Super EarthCache Guy – who can observe the course of mighty rivers, scratch rocks with shiny nails, and who, disguised as Johnny Waypoint, mild mannered inventory dude for a great Midwestern bicycle manufacturer, fights the never ending battle for permissions, pictures and the proper logging of EarthCaches everywhere..
(I for one seem to recall saying I had too much time on my hands…I think this confirms that statement)

I should have taken you up on this offer.
Wrote one up and had one of the local EarthCache Goddess read it over for her input and made some changes based on her recommendation and submitted it
Rejected, so I added more info based on what EC said it was lacking in and rewrote it and submitted it again
Rejected again, this time they wanted more info in a different direction. I have again rewritten and resubmitted and again waiting.
If it is accepted this time we may have to publish an abridged version as it is so long.
I am almost to the point to say forget it and give up on EarthCaches entirelyI may have been lucky but so far all mine went through first try…but then they may be more discriminating these days…
So where are we at with this little project spawned by boredom?
4 ECs completely written.
2 of them awaiting approval from Forest Service
1 awaiting approval from a village board.
1 complete save for logging requirements (and approval).2 Requests still undeveloped by me while I wait for these 4 to get down the pipe a bit further (get approved).
1 Request which I declined.
If these all gain approvals I think they will make nice additions to the existing ECs in the state…of the complete write-ups, two are water features, one is a rock feature and one is a glacial feature.
*Just a note on approvals, unless I have serious questions as to whether or not a cache will be approved I will write up the cache first then look for approval later. By doing it this way I learn about stuff and I can also share the completed page with the potential approving body so they have an idea what I’m proposing and what they are granting permission for.
Well done….it was nice to find a few of those with you along your way to 1,000…and I will see you at the West Bend event…..so many caches, so much fun.

That is kind of ironic, what with ECs having no container to hold coins. But there are plenty of coins out there that hardly relate to geocaching at all, so why not?
I’m not the geocoin collecting hound I used to be, but I’ll try to get a few of these.
I only have a handful myself but if the price is right and they are cool…..
I just realized that several of those listed are my Earthcaches….now I’m really excited…..more traffic!

Looks like a fun challenge, and I know Mr. LB7 was offering his services to help develop EarthCaches. Take a look at the blank spots here and that would be a good place to start.
Yes Mr. Zuma dropped by my desk this morning with the list and brought out his highlighter and marked up all the locations that NEED an EC……..
