Wholey cow… there IS hope for me then! LOL I gotta get me one them there programs!!

Google then install “Seamonkey” …it is a free and simple browser/HTML editor to use. It is a version of “Firefox” which many folks LOVE….myself included. I learned coding basics from Seamonkeys older brother (whose name at the moment eludes me) about 10 or so years ago… I like Dreamweaver much better but the price of several hundred $ vs. free might make Seamonkey a much better choice for most folks.

You mean there’s a way we can do the html thang without having to make all those funny marks in our write ups?

My son taught me some rudiments of html, and that’s what I’ve been doing to list mine. If there’s an easier way……

I can code some by hand but it’s a PITA. There are many programs out there where you basically type what you want and it magically makes it into HTML. Granted if you want tables and pictures or other fancy stuff it is a little more involved but not too difficult to figure out.

If I get my butt back over to where I initially got some coords (but lost them when my GPS crapped out) Then you can help me learn how to “More betterer” at doing HTML. 😀

My less betterer computer is on the fritz at the moment…I have to use Seamonkey to generate my HTML at the moment and it is a sloppy program which codes with all kinds of extra crap…I hope to have my Dreamweaver equipped computer back up and running after the holidays….if you need anything magically made into a shiny HTML page get with me in Jan….

Thanks….looking at it I see I never got around to making the official “EarthCache” vs. Earthcache change.

So….what can we be looking forward to?

Well I have a partner in crime on this one so I’m leaving out the details for the moment but the EC is about 35 minutes West of Oshkosh. It is currently on the desk of the Village President and hopefully from there it will go to the Village Board meeting for final approval…I’m hoping to know more after the 16th.

    *bump*
I may or may not be using this permission template today….. 😉
(I like it on the topish of the page so it’s easier to find)

I read your post at GC earlier…I do agree with Frankenstein in Iowa…that was a fun EC. that should be a nice thread to watch.

The image is not up at the moment but I’d venture a guess that one of the Trek keychains was left somewhere by me…..I have left more than a few of them out there.

All I want for Christmas is good health so that I can continue to make finds….

Would you still consider it if it was on a separate day – say for an event on Sunday or would people prefer to have it on the Saturday event?

It depends on the “work load” 50 Caches on one day would make getting 2-3 water finds a pretty tough feet. If there were say 30 (Saturday) caches and 5ish water caches there might be a better chance of finding them all.

    How bout this:

Friday night release about 5ish night caches from which stamps would need to be obtained…we could stamp on anything as proof of the visit….

Saturday morning we come and get the official stamp book and then go looking for 40ish caches….at day end we turn in the 40ish day cache stamps (stamped on the official form) and the 5ish night cache stamps (which we stamped on whatever paper we had laying around); all would apply to the Saturday prize drawings…yep thats right, those who found the night caches would have up to 5 more chances in the prize drawing…

Saturday (post event) or Sunday morning 5ish water caches are released and the whole stamp thing applies again but this time the papers need to be mailed into the chamber for some kind of special water caching prize….

Oh and BTW I don’t know where you heard I was competitive…..that doesn’t sound like me at all. 😈

I thought about suggesting this (island caches) but changed my mind….I really was afraid it may come to see the light of day…..I have two kayaks ready and waiting to get wet.

I was wondering when someone would post this thread…I was checking stats the other day and saw that you had made it past 2,000…but NOT in Wisconsin. 😕

    *raises hand – proudly*

I have found 9….plus a few more which I couldn’t find online to log.
I just think the first thing that should be done is to gauge interest….In other words how many people are looking for them and how many have they found….the forum topic should come after figuring out the interest by the membership.

If they were a bit more accurate in GC I’d go look for more…..the one closest to me was listed on GC about 3/4 miles from the actual location of the mark.

    I did a 4 hour multi this weekend……depends on the cache…normally I avoid them.
