Enjoying the last day of warmth before the wind and rain settle in this evening. My neighbor’s silver maple tree finally shed its leave two days ago so more yard work to clean them up for this morning. FTP for Sunday the 8th. What another beautiful day out there. Had a wonderful bike along the Gandy Dancer Trail the last two days. Seeing many deer, grouse, turkey tracks, and enjoying the warm breeze weather.

Howling winds last night making a campfire a bit sparky and of course swirling smoke with flying embers! Yikes! My tarped canoe and kayaks held though and am glad not to have to chase the tarps down the street.

FTP for Halloween! Happy Birthday Mother! who would have been 95 today. She hated Halloween because she always had her birthday dinner interrupted and of course my brother and I could hardly wait for dinner to be finished to go out to Trick or Treat. We would walk about 2 – 3 miles round trip from our home along the west shore of Lake Winnebago to get the treats. We always used two paper grocery bags and they always would get a hole or tear in them. But then we had all those apples, Popcorn balls, and large Hershey bars in them too. Northing like it to this day with the bite-sized of fun-sized candy bars. Of course the peanut butter kisses were hated.

FTP for Friday. This is “Gate night in Washburn” where the Trick or Treaters are out and about tonight. Although I have expectations of a smaller crowd than the 300-400 that usually visit.
