Beginning to put together an article now for the Winter WGA Newsletter. Then getting ready to get my “timing documents” ready for the Saturday Brule Valley Ski Race. I figured out this is my 12th year involved in the timing aspect. Unfortunately one of the long time timing personnel will be unable to come with their laptop So being down a key person and a much needed laptop will be a difficult adjustment. Let’s bring on the stress! and the holidaze have passed.

Happy New Year! About 5″ Up North and windy.

Big weather event hasn’t started here yet. Prediction is for 10+ inches with a lot of wind coming with it and lake affect. Although the temps are starting to drop some now. There is an event at a ski hill near Ironwood, but that too may be a no-show for me due to the pending weather.

FTP for Sunday At least I don’t have to shovel rain! It’s ugly slippery on our side streets. Rain on packed snow – NO!

Home from a visit to Fondyville and now unpacking, doing laundry, etc to settle back in. Lots of snow disappeared Up North, but we still have plenty covering the ground. Although now it’s quite slippery out there with the icy from the rain and melting. I did enjoy dry-land caching to collect a few wipattymel hides.

Frosting cut-out cookies today, but I’m not taking orders! Cookies are on target for Christmas presents and I best get going. Up early to get this done before the Badger Women’s Volleyball Match tonight at 7pm on ESPN. Then Minnesota plays at 9:30 pm Hoping for a Big Ten Rematch!! That would be awesome.

FTP Dec 10th I heard from friends who drove to Madison from Washburn yesterday. Typically it is a 5 1/2 hour drive but it took 9 hours yesterday through the snow, ice, and rain. I think I blew out 9 inches of snow here.

Heavier snow now. It almost looks like a white-out from my kitchen window I see schools from Hurley, WI to Ontonagon, MI are closed.

Well, the snow has shifted North but so far a low amount – maybe 2 inches at most. But it’s blowing off the Lake!

Weather – Added Iron County where Wandering Tracks lives. They too will have a workout pending.

4th Ranked Wisconsin plays 13th ranked Texas A&M next Friday and 5th ranked Nebraska plays 12th ranked Hawaii. If both Big Ten Teams win those matches they will meet up. Wisconsin has sweep Nebraska in Big Ten play twice now. But nothing is a cake walk deeper in to this tournament. It’s just exciting to see how strong the Big Ten conference is and how far these teams can advance.

Oh Boy – the latest weather forecast is calling for 5-11 inches of heavy wet snow for the NW counties – Douglas, Bayfield, Ashland. Begins Midnight through 6 pm Monday. Really looking forward to another back breaking snow removal event. Not! Winds NE – ENE are really snowmakers for Washburn. Winds slam us right across the lake to dump the heavy moisture-laden snow.
