FTP for Fridgid Friday Light snow with bitter cold to follow today. Sure makes for tough caching Up North.

The 24th is here with a FTP Last winter I studded two Fat Bike Tires and tried them out yesterday on the icy streets of Washburn. Worked well without slippage. Looking forward to more “in-town” rides for fitness before going to snow trails. The Tri-County Corrider is about the best place locally for a firm surface and distance. If you don’t already know, there are a ton of challenges, letterboxes, and multis along the trail from Superior to east of Iron River. Then EskoClimber and others have some difficult trestles hides with high terrains on the way to Moquah off Cty Hwy G.

FTP for Monday Lots of talk about my snowblower, but rest assured I’ve always used premium gas and a good splash of Seafoam to keep the parts working. I think the thing works better than me for those parts. I’ve been using a plastic scoop as well and actually like that better to move a good amount of snow. No gas or mechanics needed, just a good push. Now to get ready for cold weather coming after Thursday. Good “Ice Candle” weather for the upcoming Book Across the Bay on Febrary.

FTP for Sunday. Yes, the snowthrower went down and came back into action. Need to get more gas for the machine, but then I can wait a few days until the next dump of snow. Weather is cooling down for awhile. Getting a bit cache crazy to get back out, but not looking forward to digging through the snow for a plastic container. Looks like a few labs will be the way to go until meltdown.

FTP for Friday – National Cheese Day Appropriate
11″ of snow yesterday My snowthrower almost went down for the count, as I sucked in 3 food cans from the garbage pick-up area that were buried under the snow. Smoking belts and an immediate shut down saved my day. The pins didn’t shear from the auger. That’s a first. Not my garbage either, but likely dropped from the hauler.

FTP FOR THE 19TH Expecting wet heavy snow and plenty of it “Up North” today. Winds are already howling from the NE across Lake Superior so the snow machine will be turned on again.

FTP for Monday Honoring Martin Luther King today.
First the Packers, then the Vikings fall in the playoffs (didn’t bother watching their game).
Really enjoyed the Ravens-Bengals game. Certainly an unusual finish with a long run-back of a fumble by the Ravens.

I was just in Texas for a geotrip the first of the year. Wishing I was back into the warmth again. Enjoy Bartrod!

FTP for Sunday OMG! I went to bed before the end of the Chargers – Jaguar’s game and missed the thrilling finish with the jaguar’s one point win. Must have been a good one to watch.

FTP for the 11th Back in the groove with two FTP in a row! Are we all enjoying the warmer weather? I am but still dealing with moving a lot of snow to get ready for the next dump. Our city street snow banks are really tall. So tall I almost hit a car turning right because I didn’t see it over the snowbanks. It’s time to be extra cautious out there and look out for the ice now too. Geez!
