For anyone interested in this fact: Someone opened a forum about this event 5 hours prior to this opening…maybe we should stick to one, huh?
Glad to hear that some of you made it out! Can’t wait to hear how your adventure compared with the rest of ours! Congrats to all of you!

The idea of not saying what you would when face to face with the person is great also, and I think the author of the letter would have said the same things as in the letter, face to face.
The author of the post in question may have said these things face-to-face, but I would hope that we would have more tact than that. This would not have changed the nature of the message.[/B]
The author of this post, me, would have absolutely said the same things to the face of the person she, me, was referring to! “…but I would hope that we would have more tact than that…?” You can’t have it both ways! Either you want me to talk to the person in question, via email, in person, whatever…or you don’t! I wasn’t attacking a person…I was questioning forum posts…it was turned into something else when someone felt like I was stepping on toes!
If someone is afraid of what may come as a result of their posting, they shouldn’t post! The whole thing was taken out of context by the board, passed back and forth without speaking to me about it, deleted and is now blown WAAAAAAAYYYY out of proportion because other WGA members want to know what happened. (and BTW…I have sent copies of the post in question to those have asked for it…in a private email of course) We’re all being asked to be respectful of others but we’re not being afforded the same courtesy.

Of course everyone is a little bit right about this subject.
No one should be allowed to use words we would find profane (the notorious 4 letter ones) on the forum.
In the case of the letter that was deleted, I do not remember any four letter words used.
Agreed, there was no profanity used.

Another point that disturbs some of us is that the WGA “administrators” feel this is their own forum and they have the right to lock topics at will and censor if the subject matter does not suit them.
The right to moderate, edit, delete, belongs first to Elknet, secondly to the WGA and thirdly to the users of the forums. The rights of the administrators, moderators or directors are granted to them by the membership of the WGA.

The post in question was deleted in concurrence with a majority of the board. There was no descent.

So lets honestly discuss this, the letter deleted pointed out that one member of the board was going a bit far with their advice on behalf of the board and speaking for the board. The author of the deleted letter challenged them on this and was promptly censored.
The post in question was taken as an unprovoked personal attack, destructive in nature.

This is not about four letter words, its about the board or a board member not liking being criticized. So lets quit making people think that some obscene letter was deleted.
This was never suggested by the board.

I think everyone knows how this would turn out so it really is not needed.
That is what our annual elections are about.

On the email idea, I did trade emails with a board member recently and their letter contained a profane word in it. Just goes to show you that we are not safe anywhere.
That sounds like a personal matter between you and the board member you were corresponding with.
Since this entire thing was written about me I aske this: If my post was indeed deleted because it was deemed as a personal attack, how is this post, by a WGA Board Member, not an attack on me? Each question raised by wzbt03 was shot down and numerous references were made to my post and about the “author” of the post. So…how about deleting your post Ray?
Didn’t I see this “hat” thing on another page today? Hmmmmm….what happened to only posting on one? Just a question…

I get confused with all the spinoffs. Which one is it? Law & Order: Parking Ticket Checker, Law & Order: School Crossing Guard Unit, or Law & Order: 12 Items or Less Grocery Checkout Line Enforcement Unit?
I think it’s Law And Order: IFP ~ Anyone wanting to know what that stands for can email me.

Funny how people get offended when someone quotes them. That is exactly what I did. I quoted a certain person and questioned their statements. Offended by that? Well…
Also, I just got home from work and don’t see any email from anyone other than my sister in California. Guess it’s lost in cyberspace.

…Law and Order…
…I have never watched this show but it looks like a CSI type of criminal investigation. I hope it doesn’t show the sport to be dangerous and not the family friendly passtime we all know.
I’ve been watching Law and Order for about 10 years. The show takes you from the crime, tothe investigation, and on through the trial. While I too hope our sport stays “clean,” I fear given the type of show it is that this will not be the case. I hope I’m wrong!!!

I’d have to disagree with that. While Jeff does put out some caches that require great care of movement, I don’t believe that all of them are in the middle of thorns. I suppose it’s all in your approach of the area. Enough…we’re talking about the would be nudist…

No problem…we aren’t giving you grief…I was just trying to see if my memory was working this morning. Besides, I don’t think you were a member of the WGA last time this went around.
