Very cool stuff! Thanks for the link PVT! Seems the WGA is just full of television stars!

Just wondering if anyone has gotten a reply from email sent to him. We’re curious about how his planning is progressing.

Okay…sorry for the delay! It looks like we’ll begin our day in a “Painless” fashion. Our logistics officer did some work and came up with the following parking coordinates: N42* 54.046 W88* 29.894

We’ll be there at 7AM and heading out very shortly there after! We’re told that the series has taken some up to 9 hours to complete, so plan accordingly.

Safe travels to all attending. See you Sunday.

The WGA site is also case sensitive, where the Groundspeak site isn’t…could that be your issue?

I applaud Ranger Dave for giving Geocaching a chance! Having done the series, I know how concerned he must have been about the park. It’s a great series (all except the 900+ steps up…LOL!)!

I also applaud you Lorrie! You have done some wonderful work taking people to so many beautiful and/or historical places.

    Thanks to both of you!!!

Okay people…I just checked this lady out on the Groundspeak site. Wow! Three finds, one of which is a FTF, and NO GPSR! I’d say she’s serious about this sport. Perhaps someone in the Eau Claire area wants to contact her and set up an outing.

Congrats on what you’ve done already!

Welcome! How did you “discover” Geocaching? Did you walk with someone who had a GPSR, and are they planning to walk with you again? At least until you get one of your own. If you put a note on here that you’re looking for someone with a GPSR to help you, you will not have any trouble getting out on the trails again. There’s always someone willing to take a newbie out for a walk! Just ask…and it helps if you list where you live so that someone close to you can contact you.

Good luck to you! Happy Caching!

Seriously…thanks for the link. We’ve got the date clear so far…hopefully it will stay that way.

We did the highway 100, 100 on bikes and loved it. W/ all that’s going on that day, would bikes be in the way here?

Sorry for the delay in this post…I’ve been working and trying to squeeze some time in for caching…haven’t had much time for the boards lately. Can’t let this one go though…John…ROFLOL!!! APMP (wait, INWA!)!

    An interesting question…what would happen?

natloh is involved with Scouting and helped put together a hunt in Feb. A bunch of us went and helped him w/ that. Contact him and see if he can be of any assistance.

Try re-initializing it. After you do that leave it outside in one spot for about half an hour to let it get signal lock. Then see what happens.

If you continue to have problems you can go to the Magellan web-site and send them an e-mail explaining your problem. They’re pretty good about figuring out what’s going on.

    Good luck!

Thanks pc for pointing this out to me…how silly of me to have forgotten about this thread. I’m closing it and doing a cut and paste here so people can see it if they choose.

I stand corrected. (see how wasy it is to say that?)

…may I suggest that we either delete, merge, or close some of the threads referencing the coins? I am happy that there is a coin in the works, and will spend my share of (Bob’s) money…hee! hee!…on them, but there are WAY too many threads about the coins. Remeber the good old days when we were only allowed to mention a topic on ONE page?

I totally agree and tried to delete the treads but it won’t let me. One of the administrators need to do so.

    **my opinion here** (be prepared)
As far as only one thread I agree but not. If the topic and subject are the same it should only be one thread. But if the topic or subject changes a new thread should be started to prevent confusion and also lets people know it’s different.

    Example…

The coin threads are all the same topic, the coin. However, each thread is a different subject. As you can see some of them ran 50+ posts and would be way to much for someone to read a 50+ posts thread with 3 different subjects.

The multiple threads about the coin to me (see personal opinion) keep peoples comments were they belonged. One place for people to submit ideas, other for comments, and another to vote.

If we did only one topic one tread then all the congratulations to people should be in one thread not one per person. (just as example)

Yes it does create quite a few threads. Does it help reduce confusion? To me yes.

Does admin want me to stop making new threads for each subject?

Wait this thread was about coins should you have not put it inside another one?

    **** My opinion stops here***

Until this coin project came up I usually keep my post very minimal, not to mention I only been posting things here for a short while and still learning the unwritten rules.

My 2cents worth since this was mainly about all the threads I created.

FYI- If you own the first post of the thread, deleting it removes the entire thread.

Well I tried this before about a week ago and did not work. I tried again today and it worked. Thanks for giving me the inspiration to try again.

I had a bug disappear last year. If you go into the bug’s home page you can list it as missing. Click on the arrow next to the line “Recalculate Distance.” It will open the window and you choose “Mark the bug as missing.” When the page is opened after that it will show the bug in an unknown location.

Interesting. Some of these types of articles are written by people who have actually cached. Others are not. It always seems to me that the ones most critical of our sport are those who have never done it. Wouldn’t it be nice if we could take each of them on a weekend adventure?!

Props for the mention of CITO! The National Parks info is 3 years old though. Diggin? There’s no digging in Geocaching!

All in all, I guess it’s not a bad article…we’ve seen worse!
