Welcome cacherchick and son!
~Mama Fishcacher
I have a question:
Is the meeting set up yet? Will the policy be implemented soon? I have an area in mind for placing a cache, and it’s DNR land….
Oh wait. That was two questions.

Another place to try for instruction is REI. (Near West Towne Mall.) I don’t have a Legend myself, but I just got out the owner’s manual and played with my Garmin to get used to how it works. I love the screen with the arrow that points the direction I’m supposed to go, lol.
I’m just NE of Madison and would be happy to show you around some local caches if you want. I don’t post my email addy publically because we stupidly put our last name in with the email addy and are too lazy to change it everywhere now, lol. You can just leave a note for me here if you like.
Or, if you just want to try the thing out, but would just like someone to recommend some area caches, we could do that too. There’s definitely some that are easier than others!!!

And that makes me sad. I liked Buxley’s maps….

Although I’m not near you, I just wanted to say hello! I too am one that picks up rocks when I go out, hee hee! My son has the “rock collecting” gene too.
I know there are cachers in your area! Sometimes it just takes folks a few days to get to the board. Welcome!

Congrats to the new officers!!! I have this feeling this is gonna be a great year for the WGA!

Let’s see…. Seeing that your *available cache radius* is probably growing at a rapid pace…. I’d say take the number of caches you’ve already found, divide by the square root of 63095, then multiply by 0.47194, then add the remainder to the number of dogs you have, then you do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around…. I’ll guess you’ll have this car at least 3.5 years.
~MF, who now needs to go look up this “Rio Cinco” to see what it looks like!

Excellent event today! As always, the company made it great! Good food didn’t hurt either – YUM!
Too bad the weather didn’t cooperate a bit better. (Sleet hurts!) I was also sad to see some others couldn’t make it due to illness. I hope those of you that were feeling crummy get better soon!!
~Mama Fishcacher, going to find the next event nearby on gc.com….
I’ve been watching your numbers sit still awhile, and now make a beeline toward 1000! Woo Hoo!!!
Congrats on making it to the 4 digit club! It was great seeing you at breakfast today, and hope to see you again soon!

Ok, maybe it is just me, but I am dying to know who won our new board positions. I look forward to working with our newly elected board memebers…I just can’t wait to personally congratulate them…
I was just thinking the same thing!!! (Except I don’t have to work with them.)

It WAS fun! I wonder if the cache owner will post the solution now and decrease the difficulty…. I would LOVE to see how this puzzle is solved! If they don’t post the solution, maybe Team Everest will have it figured out and let us know?

Just how many “suspicious package/bomb scare type calls” are there for geocaches???

OK, I’m just about to give up on this one. For those of you trying to attack this one manually, with some sort of “alphanumeric wheel” or spreadsheet, I can tell you this:[*] The key is not a single english word or proper name (I tried 250,000 of them)
[*] The key is not any word in the “letter”, nor any combination of 2 or 3 these words in the order they are listed in the “letter”Assumption now is that the key is a nonsensical word or an extremely long combination of words (or the original cacher didn’t encode the message correctly or is pulling our legs ).
I’m now just throwing things at it, assuming the words “north”, “west”, or “cache” will appear somewhere in the message. We’ll see if I get any hits on this… it will probably take overnight.
Holy cow!! I’m impressed! I’m glad there are folks like you in the world! (Because I’m not one of them!! LOL!)
I was puttering around on it a little bit the other night and learning all about cryptology from google…. Little Fishcacher (a 2nd grader) brought me an elementary school book today about writing and decoding secret codes and said maybe it would help me! Hee hee!
I’ve been thinking that maybe some of the words in quotation marks have more meaning from the letter? But I also wondered if it was an every 3rd letter type thing also…. And what if the whole thing is written in mirror type so you can’t read it unless you hold it to a mirror? Then the key might not make any sense at all… My brain hurts with all the considerations!!! (And I DID figure out Enigma too…. Now to just get down there….) I like puzzles I can figure out. The ones that I can’t just piss me off, lolol.

This is so far beyond me, it’s not even funny… I believe we have some of the best people working on it…I offically declare that I’ll put up $25.00 towards a plane ticket if we can have a Wisconsin cacher solve and find this cache…!!!
Any more takers? Wouldn’t take much and we’d have a ticket or two in no time!!
~Bill
Great idea! You can add me to the list of $25.00 contributors!
~Mama Fishcacher
I’m surprised nobody has found it yet! They must need some Wisconsin cachers out there to figure it out.
