Would I be able to bother you for that list of caches? We will be staying in the same area in Dec. and also will be on foot. Thank you.
Aaah – a much better time of year, I’m sure. ๐ It’s gonna be HOT this weekend!
Here’s the list she recommended: ๐
GC4E95 – Lake Vegas
GCFF01 – The Presidential Suite
GCG2VN – LV Money-makers
GCB0EB – Toga Party
GC4CE1 – MM MM Good
GC4E94 – In the Belly of the Beast
GC729A – Wecome to Las Vegas
GCDFD4 – Another Las Vegas WeddingI’m printing out all the cache pages today to take with me. Thanks again Folk Trakers!

Mama FC–we just returned from Vegas on 6/27 and did alot on the strip. I’ll re-read our posts and send something by e-mail tomorrow with suggestions. Will you have a car? There are some that are slightly off the strip. Not that far if you enjoy walking in 115 degree heat, but a car would be nicer. Also, we cached well off the strip around Vegas and outside (Red Rock area, etc.). Let me know how much detail you want…we did about 30 caches during our stay.
Woo Hoo! That would be awesome!
We will NOT have a car. We are doing a lot of walking on Friday to see the usual sights – the fountain at the Bellagio, some really big tv screen thingy (Freemont Street), and the neat hotels. I have a list bookmarked that will get printed out before I go and then reviewed on the plane. I was hoping that in 115รยบF heat, walking in and out of hotel lobbies would help keep us cooled off a bit. ๐
I’ll be in touch!

Having just returned from there, I can tell you almost all the caches on the strip are virtuals. They are interesting. There are a few micro’s, but not *all that exciting.* The closest micro to Luxor would be GCW848. This is a fun cache with bugs–GCQ596. On a side note, it will be hot, hot out there!!
PM was sent your way. Thanks for the suggestion and the PM!
I’m totally fine with virtuals. In fact, I really enjoy virtuals! I almost always find them really interesting.
I didn’t pick the time to go out there, lol. I definitely would’ve picked late fall or spring or something MUCH cooler…. But my baby sister got to pick her own wedding date. ๐ I didn’t get much say in that part, lol. According to the weather channel website, we’re looking at highs in the 100s, lows in the 80s. ๐ฏ But it’s a DRY heat, right?

I find the same problem as well. Not always. But sometimes. For me, the swag is usually not important unless Little Fishcacher is along. ๐ I carry a backpack when I cache and I keep an assortment of items in there and will dump a big handful of things in a cache if it is in need. I sorta enjoy it. Maybe it’s the feeling of playing santa year round, lol.
With this thread fresh in my mind, I went out to do maintenence on my cache (GCNHB1) today. I was expecting to find the assortment of items you would find in an older cache (this one is 15 months old now) such as broken mctoys and the like. I was VERY pleasantly surprised to find the final with LOTS of cool trade items inside! It’s a 5 gallon bucket and it’s 1/3 full! ๐ฎ It had a nice lanyard, a cute stuffed animal, 3 or 4 books, and all sorts of fun little items and toys! The only thing I restocked it with was some mosquito wipes since the little buggers were thick today.
I left a note on my cache page, and I’ll leave it here too: Thanks to all the previous finders for putting the waypoints and final back where you found them, and for keeping the final clean, dry, and full!!! ๐

The problems I’ve heard and experienced were with the “return to US” part of the Canada trips, not the getting into Canada part. Ken–I hope you have no issues in trying to come home!
That’s what happened to me 4 yrs ago when ds and I went to Sault Ste. Marie – No problem entering Canada, all sorts of hassle getting back home. ๐
Big congrats to you all! ๐
What a neat video.
โก If Anne doesn’t take you up on this, would you add me next on your list of interested parties? Thanks.

I just read Greyhounder’s experience with The Gauntlet….
I’m scared to go.
Seriously.
That photo of the giant beetle has creeped me out! ๐ฏ

Never. I love the badger!
Think of all you could do with the badger – coins, tshirts, keychains, etc… Then you could branch out to other animals too!

I think I would be able to make this! Woo Hoo!!
It’s penciled on my calendar!

Seeing as I’m the only one on the team that posts here, I’d like my UserName to say Mama Fishcacher.
FWIW, I’d totally let the 9yr old post here if he wanted though.

The story is up on the Channel 27 website.
http://www.wkowtv.com/index.php/news/story/p/pkid/23948It doesn’t sound too negative at all.
