    Welcome Becky!

Well, if you don’t have any plans for Saturday, you could very well meet lots of us at an event!

I personally don’t have a dog, so I haven’t really taken notice about dog parks or not…. I’ve only done 15 caches so far, and I’ve come across people walking their dogs on most of them! (Or is it dogs walking their people? I suppose it depends…. Anyhow…)

    Glad you could join us!

Ummm… does this new parking mean I don’t have to pay someone a dollar to carry me uphill?

Papa fishcacher is actually off on a Saturday! And it’s this particular Saturday! Woo Hoo!! The fishcacher family of three (papa, mama, little one) are putting this on our calendar in pen!

I have that page bookmarked as well….

I also have two about the marshmallow bunnies that are always good for a giggle!

*Where did you first learn about geocaching? ==>Of all places, I read about it in Better Homes and Gardens magazine this past summer. As I’m reading the article, I got sooooo excited – I was looking for something that would get our family outside together. Geocaching combines the technology that papa fishcacher likes with the outdoors that mama fishcacher likes. Now if the two of us and little fishcacher can just find a day off at the same time….

*Do you use your GPS for anything else besides geocaching? ==>Not yet, but I’ll probably take it up to Minnesota with me for our annual fishing excursion. Oh – one thing I did – I verified what I already knew – that my car’s speedometer is off by 4mph.

*How cold is “too cold” for you to go out to find a cache? ==>The below zero windchills last weekend were a bit chilly for me. I’m hoping to make it out this weekend when I’m not working though.

Wow! Way to go Ms. WISearcher!!! When do you go to present at the meeting?

Too bad about the county being such sticklers about the *policy*. But when it comes to the county and *policy*, we are all to familiar with it in this household as papa fishcacher is a county employee. (Not one with any pull regarding parks policy though… Darn it all!)

I would think that either of these *entities* could be very open to the idea once they get to know about it better. I love the idea of taking them along on a caching trip. Maybe a nice warmish, dry, spring day before the bugs break out??? Hee hee. Then we would probably get some newbies to the sport as well!

    Oh………..

Makes sense now as to why there are so few caches in the Madison/Dane County area.

Lil’ Otter, I just LOVED your stories! Especially the one about the biker guys and the radiation. That one had me laughing out loud!

Thanks so much for sharing your experiences. You are such an expert in this field what with all your finds!!! I know I’m probably more likely to run into some really weird stuff at the mall than out in the woods. 😉

Excellent additions Rangerboy. I like the idea of leaving the note in the car about who/what/where. I think I’ll start doing that one. And I always have a whistle with me. My dear like-a-brother cousin gave it to me when I went to college. Darn it’s old… I wonder if it still works, lol!!!
