Congrats to Dean and Roxie, as well as Dr. Doolittle! You guys rock and, I might add, put out some awesome caches. Keep on cachin’!
Congrats big time. Great meeting you guys at Beloit.
Maruby here of the drhaas team. I think you are safe for a while. We have no major trips to kids planned in the near future, so I think you can proceed without looking over your shoulder. Hope to meet you at the event in Indiana.
Hey, now that you will have more spare time, perhaps you can start a new streak. Maybe we’ll have to plant a cache-a-day for you guys. Our son-in-law’s team in High Point, NC did that for a month. So, I know it can be done. All us “locals” will have to work on it.
Steve said he saw your names at a few caches. He gets in at 8:30 tomorrow night.
We’ll be there, too. Will be meeting up with daughter and her family from NC, lilmaxhikenbike. Had a great time last year, so have to go again. Hope to see you all there sometime.
I’ll be the local to back her, Birdin’, up. It is quite an amazing site to see on the Black River just as you come into the north side of La Crosse by ShopKo.
We bicycle cached quite a bit last summer. We always brought them along, just in case. We did the trail up in Eau Claire, as well as quite a bit around Rochester and the Cities. We have mountain bikes. Hope to do the trail around River Falls soon.
Know what we’re doing about this weather issue…getting out of here and heading to the land of 95 degrees and sunshine. Hop in our spare suitcase T&B.
When we first became involved in geocaching, we also were instructed how to log the temps we found that day. There were 50 available, but we only got 30 or so. We assumed everyone logged them, and everyone at that event did. It wasn’t until last fall at the WGA event, after we had missed lunch, as we were out caching at the far ends of the park, that we heard the RUMBLINGS about NOT logging temporary caches. The people talking about it said it didn’t matter to them whether people logged them or not, but they would NOT log the temps, therefore, only did a few and went to do permanent caches instead, although stayed to enjoy the company.
At the first event we attended, the caches were spread out over a large area, however, they were easy caches. We felt like kids in a candy store. However, at the WGA event last fall, the caches were NOT on easy terrain and were excellent caches, just as tough, if not tougher, to get as other permanent caches. We, therefore, felt no qualms logging those caches.
We, too, voted to allow logging of temporary caches, but we would still attend WGA events. I think it is unfortunate to see politics involved in this great group!
Ma’nparuby could easily be talked into this one.
This is too funny. Ain’t no glue going on these tires….for now Steve has taken to air. He is going caching with our son-in-law, lilmaxhikenbike, in Bristol, TN next weekend. And he said he’d never fly again…..
Steve is heading to North Carolina this coming Saturday.
I talked to Mr. Finco who is a member of the Lax sports authority who is promoting this event . They will be putting out 20 caches . These will not be logable . They will start out by advertising a coordinate to a cache ,then you will take your picture with the cache and submit it to the event for a drawing . Give me a call for more questions if you have any .
