Yes, to Deejay.
And Yes, to knoffer!!! You really …..!
Now that you mention it, I have been waiting…..
When DO I get my coin?

Thanks. I collect these pretty icons on my trackables page…..
So, maybe we need to re-phase the question.
Let’s say three cachers, all from different towns, go out caching together.
Is it possible for one of them to obtain a PQ for all three to share, and yet enable each individual cacher to know which caches he has found already.
That’s does not seem possible. Becasue GSAK knows who requested the PQ.
So….
The best practice seems to be for each of the 3 cachers to obtain his own PQ. But, to insure some compatability, they should agree on some specifics.
1. Picket a cache on which to center the PQ.
2. Decide which caches to include –
such as all caches still active,
but do not select either owned or found options,
ask for all traditional and multi caches (but not others).
3. Other options, such as in WI, within 25 miles, etc. This should result in the most similar PQ results for all three cachers.
When entered in GSAK however, it will result in (some) different smart names. This is due to each cachers’ home coords. In particular, when a series of caches have the same name (such as Trail of the Serpent…..)
GSAK assigns the final letter to the samrt name based on the direction and distance from the cacher’s home coords. This means it will be different for each cacher.Did I misss something …………..?
Gary is right. Puzzles can run the gauntlet, from very easy to very hard.
A Suduko is easy. So is a cache where you are directed to go to a location, find something easy, and then perform another set of instructions.
For example: set up a cache involving historical site or building. Direct cachers to the first stage. (Might be several steps to collect info). Use date on site, or number of windows, etc to compute the final coords.
I have to throw my two cents into this discussion.
I do not sign the logs in the caches. For several reasons.
1. Their are not permanent. The commuter one is.
2. Sometimes the log is wet, or gets wet. Unreadable.
3. When the cache is stolen or archived, or the log is full, where does the log go? I throw mine out.
4. Does it really matter?
5. Almost forgot – I have other cachers forge my name! When out caching with Honeybunnies, Wheezer, Miata, Giz, Astro D, etc – they have certainly all signed my name more often than I have! Though occassionally I return the favor.BTW, I actually do sign some logs. The really special ones. Like #$%^#@$# Baldwin, down in Illinois. Or 04145_Cram Id. Or an FTF if I’m aware of that.
And another BTW – want to know where such and such a cache is? I can generally tell you, since I’ve been there.
Veni, vidi, sivi!
So …. that means you do not like my puzzles?! 🙁
Would not want any advice from me? 😥
Congratulations on the milestone, and what a wonderful place to be for it. Loved all the snow, although it was hard walking thru it….
Went hunting Up North yesterday, with Team Honeybunnies, Team Wheezer, and Goofy-2. Roads were in great condtions, except for Hwy 17 way up at the Michigan border.
Lots on snow on the ground, making for some hard work. Slogging thru foot deep snow is hard work. Then, having to dig for the cache is another whole issue.
We managed 5 FTF’s, and over 15 finds. Only one DNF, after seven people hunting for some twenty minutes.
“Thanks for sticking up for me Marc. LOL GOD help me… and I’m the WGA Secretary this year!! LOL”
I forogt about that….are we in trouble, or what!
How about a snow on the ground and road condition report from that area?
Hemi, Anne is one of the new breed of communicators. They just type, never mind spelling! (She actually failed a grade in school becasue her spelling was so bad!)
At least she works at CAPITALIZATION and /,,.,/;.;,/., which is more than I can say for a friend of mine in Arizona who just free forms everything!.
What’s a little snow got to do with caching!??
Team Honeybunnies, k0rpl and I had planned on a trip to the Milwaukee area for Sunday. Well, with the storm down there, we thought to go north to the Michigan line. The storm moved up there was well.
We stayed within the Appleton metro area, and did quite a few puzzle caches. Probably did some 25 caches in all.
Hiked around 3 mi RT for one set of caches, in snow up to 8 inches deep. Did a lot of digging in the snow for some caches.
Best find – Seth’s gps, after he had dropped it in the snow, and did not notice it was gone for some time.
Congrats, there, DeeJay. But with all the great weather you been having down south, why are you not at 1000?
