Maybe this conversation should be put on hold until after …..
I’m not liking what you all are planning!
“I think the number of finds could be as low as 5 before placing a cache. I think rather than setting a find limit, it would be more beneficial to emphasize to potential hiders that the location should be either interesting, scenic, challenging, unique, etc. to consider it for a cache placement. Of course, the only problem with this is it can only be measured subjectively, not quantitatively.”
Ok, this is a great way of saying it. But….how do you get this information to a newbie before they plant a cache?
That’s part of the logic behind a time and number limit. Hopefully the newbie will absorb some of this over that time, from observing other caches and perhaps even meeting other cachers. If not, then what?
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh……..groan!
Ahhh……………..!?
Ok, time for me to do this cache.
And I hear Zuma was cleared of …..ah, certain charges. And he is going to be the next President!
It’s amazing, but geocaching seems to attract a larger number of disguntled individuals than other ‘sports’ I know of.
Now, as far as humoring you, Russell…..well!
June 11th, 1-4 pm. Bubolz Nature Center.
Now do not tell me this does not work, IromOn! Send one of Team Hanna, and have them introduce themselves as you, if necessary.
Ok, what is it, and how do I use it to get coords loaded into my gps and mapping system?
Kent: I’ve logged in the new website. Clicking on the ‘download gpx file’ results in a garbled word text. ????
Is there a glich in the system?
Congratulations!
Way to go!
Team Hana
Nothing wrong with tooting your own horn!
Congratulations! See you at 1000 soon…..
Way to go mOn! Yea, Team Hana!
Streets & Trips is wonderful for caching! You can use it with a laptop, if you have one and a navigator. Otherwise, it’s fantastic for plotting out cache locations, routes to take, etc. Makes great printouts for a caching trip.
For a Palm, or PocketPC, I’d recommend Cachemate. It is the best program for listing and working cache info. There is a version for both Palm and POckets.
