Welcome to the Millenium Club!
01/04/2005 at 9:57 pm in reply to: Did Team GeoPink reach their 300th find milestone goal this #1756709Congratulations, Jeff (and the girls of Geo-Pink). Now, when do you expect to pass the 1,000 mark?
Marc
I came, I saw, I left.
Latin, after Ceasar’s Veni, Vidi, Vici.
Thanks to all. It certainly fesl like I accomplished a lot.
Do I get to pontificate a little?
Went with Miata to the Waupun area where he had not cached before. We did a total of 25, with 2 no finds. I collected 6 new caches, for a total of 1002.
It was interesting going back to caches I had done before, and seeing what I remembered. Sometimes I could drive right up to them, others times not. Sometimes I could remember the container, but not where it was. Others times nothing.
Our two DNF’s where caches I had done before, and remembered where they had been hidden, so we knew they were missing.
Last Thursday I went to Milwaukee with my Dad and did a series (State of Mind)down there. We drove around in parts of the metro area sneither one of us had been in before. And probably could not find again!
Saturday I went out on my own, to try and reach 1000. I got to 996, and West Bend, when it started raining. So………..
Way back when I thought getting to 100 was going to be a major accomplishment. Once there, and with the passage of time, it did not seem like much any more. Watching the list of members here in Wisconsin, and how fast they pass the 100 mark, it looks like 1000 (the Millenium Club) is going to be the big thing now.
Well, the stres and struggle is over with. I need a vacation. I think I’ll go to Arizona and …….. well, geo-cache!
Thanks agin, especially to everyone who put out the caches I found here in Wisconsin.
Oh, BTW, veni, vidi, sivi.
Marc
Sheels (spelling?) at the Mall.
I’m a bum. Caching can be 4-14 days a month, depending on whatever else is going on, the weather, new caches, desire to travel, etc.
Congratulations! Keep up the pace, and you’ll be at 1000 soon ….
Marc
Thanks, all.
It does look like 1000 sometime this year. However, with the rain and bugs and brambles ….
Eau Claire was a wonderful place to cache, and I have a lot more on my list for there.
Marc
Congrats! Besides all those finds, you have hidden some wonderful caches which have brought lots of enjoyment to others.

My first WI cache was High Cliff Hide Away GCCC3 on 5/3/02, while I was home visting from Arizona. I have 300 + in AZ, only 134 in WI, but I’m working on it.

Ok, guys – who is going to explain where you find UID and how you do all this niffy things?
Marc
A couple of more thoughts on cache deactivation.
What if the owner dies?
The owner is no longer active in geocaching?
What time limit to be considered unactive? Who does what when the owner has disappeared?Owner moves from local area? I moved from Arizona – I archived physical caches, but left a virtual active.
Since virtuals are usually in an area where there is a lot of traffic anyways, should they be included in the process.
Marc
Can someone explain what Spinner is?
Thanks
