    1. open your windows pc. that is, have it running….

    2. plug in your oregon. wait. takes about 30 seconds on mine to load and recongize it.

    3. a small window will open asking what you want to do. the highlighted choice is to open my computer. click ok.

    4. my computer window will open, and the oregon will be displayed as an external drive. my in letter f.

    5. click on folders, so they display along the left side.

    6. click on ‘gramin oregon’ so it expands. one sub-directory is gpx.

    7. find the file you want to load from whichever directory you have it in.

    8. click and drag that file into the gpx folder.

I guess that means you do not have GSAK….. perhaps you should consider getting it, since it is a fantastic program.

Wait a moment, instructions to follow ………

OK, perhaps you should take off the cheesehead hat, and think clearly for a moment. 8)

I notice GSAK does not allow a deactivate smart names option. Hmmm…. they must know something we do not ??? Like, it’s smart to use smart names?

Why would you want to use GC numbers?

Thanks, I was just curious about this. I guess there are some challenges out there that require a cache a day (not the same year). Looks like we missed a couple opportunities recently. 337 out of 366 so far.

Well, so I am ahead of you in something! 8)

I’d blow you a raspberry, but do not know how …. yet.

Took me forever to find out how to take a screen shot in Windows using a Mac keyboard.

    And one more time ……

Tried zooming in, and got the .1 mile circles. Zoomed again, and ended up with extraneous smaller circles scattered around.

Zoomed back out, and got MORE circles – this time bigger than .1 mile radius.

Neither the smaller nor the bigger circles have a cache related to them.

    Oppps , missed this ……

    The circles do not appear!

OK, a couple of notes on my experimenting…..

    1. I had been cutting from a Windows environment, and then pasting in a Mac one. This may be causing the problem of only 5 caches being posted.

    2. Because ….. cutting and pasting within Windows results in all the caches being posted.

Used both WordPad and Notepad for the cutting, and then Opera for the browser.

Benny and I are both coming, with our new toys. There should be enough units for everyone to get a chance to see how they work…….

OK, I have a small GPX file I created in GSAK. How do I cut and paste it?

Just open the file with Notepad (or similar). Then copy the entire contents and paste into this tool.

OK, did the cut and paste – with both notepad and word.

Both options result in only 5 caches showing up. Should be 27. Those shown are within .83 miles of home coordinates.

    Any ideas????
