Dah… do we dare ask why? :>
Sure, why not ……
On a botany expedition, and we were browsing different manuals looking up what species we were finding along the road.
Congratulations!

I can’t help but give this topic a fresh look in the light of the “safety” issue associated with roundabouts and the supposed danger to the general public that cachers cause while being a pedestrian there.
Look at your average power caching trip or someone chasing one of these “muther” outlines and tell me how the driving antics, questionable parking, and dashes-across-the-roads that we all know are taking place are any less dangerous or less likely to cause accidents.
If you were to take a good look at these roads, you will find they are country roads. The traffic here is almost non existent.
I have been on these roads in years past for other activities, and we just stopped in the road, and did our thing. Actually, got out lawnchairs, and sat in the road for a while! No traffic.
Muther just put out another series of caches!
I’ve heard them referred to as ley lines.
Well, congratulations!
Keeping running – Zuma and Seth are sure to be laying traps for you!

Just found this map on MutherAndSun’s profile. Looks like they’re outlining the different counties with their sign hides. Maybe some creativity in that.
This looks easy but in reality I looked at the map more closely and many of these caches are not on single roads as they would appear…they are very often on several different roads where you are forced to snake up and down to get to them…
You would be correct. Though some are on direct roads, some are not and you have to many additional miles to get around to the caches. She is outlining the county but the county is not edged out by roads. In fact, some roads that are listed even on a GPSr are actually dirt roads or grass farm roads which are not serviced by the county and are full of holes.
Yes, don’t I know that! Been down alot of those ‘roads’ hunting caches.
Poor Sheila has a heck of a time navigating around there ………
However, the new caches are really tempting. Perhaps it’s time to visit relatives in Springfield.

I voted “Yes”, they should be banned. Not as a cacher or pedestrian, but as a driver. There are enough places to look, and cars to watch, without having to wonder what that person with 2 little kids is doing in the roundabout! Are they watching ALL the cars and lanes as they scurry back across?
We enjoy the roundabout hides as cachers, but for the safety of everyone, especially cachers and there families, putting a hide in the middle of 2 streets (which is where you will find a roundabout) is risky. If you should be 150 feet from a RR, which a train passes on occassionally, staying out of a roundabout makes even more sense!
Just my 2 cents worth…
Ditto! make that 4 cents!
6 Cents!
