I think with more education in schools and scouts ect it opens more of the caches to disappear. Not that educating kids is bad but only a couple are going to move on and enjoy the hunt some are just going to shrug it off and couple will help themselves to the cache. It sucks but do we want to try to get new cachers or try to keep current caches active?

in reply to: Candidate Question: Quality Caches? #2061910

I think it’s hard to try to promote quality caches in my own opinion. The one way we can better educate on caches and placements is in our education of geocaching 101. When we teach a 101 we can emphasis on what cachers like to see in a cache and a log. Every cacher is different on what they like and how they find and how they sign. Some people like PNG’s some like hikes some love the power trails. So as a way for the WGA to help promote quality caches is through education. Thank you

Awesome question when I first brought up the kids club when I was on the board I had some ideas with the help of others of the board about having a jr board member or 2. Get the kids more involved with doing presentations at the events and in their local schools and clubs. I also had a crazy idea of if we can get a kids group running awesome we could take it to groundspeak about trying to get it world wide base kids club. We need the kids participating more we need their feedback. They are the future. Would love a kids member list and possibly kids a kids newsletter in future. Thank you.

in reply to: Candidate Question | Leadership #2061904

I feel that leadership is huge to make groups run like a well oiled machine. I feel I am not there to reinvent the wheel but to help keep the train going forward that great leaders ahead of us put on the tracks. The leader is only as strong as the people they are behind them supporting them. If you are a leader or a supporter we are a team as 1.

in reply to: Candidate Question | What's Your Special Skill? #2061903

My special skill is not just one but a mixture of all. My my weakest used to be people but when I was on bod it helped me alot to be more social and work better as a team. Recently we switched churches and just strengthened my specialness with people and my commitment to God. With this question I feel they are all part of a pie to make me whole. Thank you.

in reply to: Candidate Question #2061892

It seems like alot of cachers will fall out from time to time between having kids or work schedule and kids activities. I feel usually they majority will come back because of the love of the hunt. If I know a cacher who hasn’t coached in awhile or even new ones I’ll message them and say hey we are going here or doing this lets go. Thank you for the question.

in reply to: Candidate Question | What's Your D/T? #2061886

This is a very interesting question. I want to say I am the whole grid. 1/1. Easy to find, easy to get to. I want to be available if a cacher has a question or needs assistance. I also see myself as high as a 5/5. I’m a hard worker and not afraid to bushwack to get what needs to be done in a timely fashion. Thank you for the question.
