The guy was found shortly after his escape yesterday. He is “safely” back behind bars.

Looks like you had fun and I know Rick Blick was looking forward to your #200 as well. Keep on having fun.

Glad to hear about your first trackable. May it have a long career 😀
Maybe it will last 18 years too!
Unless of course you place it in a cache and then run back to take it out and keep it, then change your mind and put it back in a cache and …so on….
Congratulations on #1200!
You sure make the rounds. I guess Black cats are party animals!
Keep on having fun.
Thank you for all of the “Congrats.” We certainly had a great time. I even cached one evening at 11:00 and it was still light out!

Congrats on the memorable milestone…I would love to go there some day but I doubt I could talk Mr TBC into any place colder than here 🙂
Mrs. TBC: It was actually warmer in Alaska than here in Wisconsin. The temps were mostly upper 70’s , although 2 of the days we had temps in the upper 80’s!

Thank you all
It was nice to find a 6-year old cache with only 50 finds. Much prefer the out of the way cache that is visited infrequently. TE did beat me there by 5 years (2 years before I started caching)
Also, I think “Mountain Man” is one of the nicer things that Mathman has called me.
True… but I need to be nice once in a while. 😉
I think that is why there area variety of hides. I occasionally like to make a cache a little more difficult to find and it is duly noted in the cache description or by the Difficulty rating. I too will always give a cacher a clue “if” they first log a DNF. In fact, I may email the cacher asking if they want a clue. For me, the purpose of placing the cache is so that people can find it. If I place a cache that requires a long hike or snowshoe to get to, the hide is usually pretty straight forward. The purpose of that cache or series will be to get the cacher out into the woods for a nice scenic view or exercise. There is no need in my opinion to make the find difficult. If the hide is easy to get to, then the Difficulty level can go up so that a return to the cache may be easier so the cacher can find the cache.
Should the cache owner get the first chance to give a clue to a cache? Sure. I think everyone has benefited from this discussion. Hopefully we can all see both sides to this discussion and move on.
Congratulations!
Keep on having fun.
Hello. You might want to add this post to the “New Members” forum as well.
This is a good statement put into a forum. There are many times where I’ll post a “hint” right into the cache page. Then when there is a DNF, cachers might mention, they need a clue. Apparently they did not read the cache page. I agree sometimes there is waaaaay too much verbiage on a cache page and I myself will sift through it.

If you sit in a window seat, it is very cool to watch the nuvi and see where you are, and compare the roads below to the map on the nuvi….works most of the time, but not always….best to turn it on before you get to far away from you starting point so that it can find the satellites faster.

The key is to have a window seat, otherwise you willl lose satellite reception quickly. It is fun to watch. I have had only one airline pilot tell me I couldn’t use it of the 4 flights that I have taken with a GPSr. It’s funny how all the people around you will keep asking you where we are at a given moment, or what body of water we just crossed, etc.

Too many challenges… I just re-read the Wisconsin Counties challenge and Virtuals ARE allowed, so a few more changes need to be made…
Who’s idea was this, anyway? 😆How about one including virtuals and a bookmark w/o virtuals!
😀

Hey? Where’s the thanks to me for giving Team Black Cat the inspiration for making that list? 😛
All kidding aside, much thanks to TBC for making that list. I should be able to get Oconto and Brown County this week and we’ll see what happens for the other 69 counties that I have to get yet 😉
Way to Go Todd300!
