Is that $5 for all NEW caches or does it include ones already in existence? It’s a shame that they need to charge to use the land that is owned by the public.

There are so many missing or just being held that it might be easier to ask “Who has never had a TB lost or held captive?”.

    😕

I sent out one of my first coins in January and the first people to the cache (3 days later) said the coin wasn’t in the cache! What a bummer. I have since sent out 7 or 8 coins and they are moving fine. That experience almost kept me from sending out more coins.

🙄 I could be off base here but it seems that the most long lasting sports have been the ones that allow, even welcome, all different levels and interest areas of participation. Pam

You are right on base! I have to agree with your post about the sport. I know several cachers who only do a few caches a year but they are usually caches that involve a long hilke or a certain park. They aren’t in it for numbers but rather for the uniqueness that geocaching offers them. Each team has their own reasons for caching and all are acceptable.

It can offer travelers a way to find an out of the way or an uncommon area to view something that is just plain different. Let’s not limit people from becoming new cachers. We need to welcome everyone. We all started somewhere. Just my opinion.

in reply to: How many in a day? #1871724

My highest total was 35 or 36 with 1 DNF (Stereogenesis). Only one cache was a drive-up. Most were part of the HBZ series. I was caching with One Paddle Short and w/o him pushing me I probably would have ended up with about 20 for the day. I was exhausted and slept well that evening.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Just think how much sooner you would have reached this milestone if Zuma wasn’t along! 😉

    Keep on caching.

in reply to: Coin Makers #1871176

I would suggest going to the Geocaching.com site and follow the link from “Trackables.” They list several coin manufacturers. Some of note are Coins and Pins and Oak Coins.. It really all depends on how many colors, size, and the type of metal you have in mind. They will give you a quote first. Just make sure you are comparing what each company is offering you. Research first.

Cinema Boxers Thank you for the “heads-up” on the coins. They look fantastic and I just ordered a bunch. Thanks.
