I can assure you that if I am on the road to West Bend for an example, I may have over 40 finds from 7:00 am until after dark. If one is a FTF, it sure will not be logged until that night….and it has happened a few times.

I was naughty once and left a hard puzzle cache unlogged for a few days, to which I owe an apology to Seth. Marc would have found that one way sooner, but he got one number messed up and was looking in a swamp. 😆

Huh? You have me puzzled again. 😳

Now we find out that the electric service box needs to be updated to 100 amp service. I am starting to think Project Home might be a good idea.

I looked at the website and it looks like something my Sister should have done before being evicted. I’m not sure that the program would work on a home that is being refurbed for resale, but I can pass the link on to her. Thanks!

My niece works for Project Home http://www.projecthomewi.org/ . She said, “Have him call Project Home–she might qualify for some kind of help. If her furnace is in need of replacement we will give her a new one–if she qualifies for the weatherization program. 608-246-3737
Otherwise, I can refer a few of our contractors (we subcontract the work to licensed HVAC guys).” Hope this may help you.

I hope you get well soon Ray! 🙁 I’ll give you something to gloat about during recovery.

Remember when you predicted that I would be without a Miata someday, and what would I do about my screen name? Well that day may be coming this next Spring if not sooner. I have a standing offer on it and got a call tonight that 10 acres is for sale next to my hunting land. Price is higher than I would have liked, but it has been in the family for almost 100 years now. 🙁

Looks like my Harley Electra Glide will be the only wheeled toy in my stable. 😯

I will keep that in mind. Thanks! 🙂

If you do proceed with replacing the heating system and are considering going with a high-efficiency system … consider applying for an incentive to get some money back toward the cost of that system, from the State’s Energy Efficiency program:

Thanks again. I have passed this along to her also. Great replies. 😉

Thanks! This is exactly the type of thing I am looking for! 😀

Any heating and cooling guru’s in the area would be top on the hit list now. My Mom is dead set on replacing the furnace/AC even though she has never heard or seen it run. It should be evaluated and repaired in my mind before even thinking about replacement.

If one of the recommended installers from Menard’s is named Chris Jerrod call him. He installed our Berber from Menard’s at our cottage.
He lives in Briggsville and his phone number is 608 981 2362. He did a fine job.

Cool! 😀 I love that place!

We made very good progress today. We painted pretty much the whole upstairs, hung 4 mini blinds, and hung 2 large sets of vertical blinds. Lots of stuff was cleaned. most all baseboards were removed in preparation for carpet in 3 rooms were there never was any.

Julie chose a nice color Berber carpet from Menard’s, and now we need to find a recommended installer. Menard’s provided a list of people in the area that install, so we just need to chose one from the list.

The furnace needs to be looked at to be sure it’s ready for the Winter yet and maybe some drywall work in the basement. Things are shaping up quicker than I thought they would.

in reply to: TB with the most miles #1879556

My travel bug Ozzy has put on 14232 mi, but is retired and sitting on my computer monitor. He was on a mountain top in Colorado, a beach in Hawaii, near the Grand Canyon and points in between before Marc_54140 brought him back to Wisconsin from Arizona.

I have a 1997 Ford F150 4X4 with a regular cab, 8 foot box, 6 cylinder, and 5 speed manual tranny. They give these things away and it’s a great truck for me. Paid $6200 for mine several years ago with under 90k miles.

I also have a 2004 Mazda Tribute that is coming off lease in February that has been 100% trouble free for us, but that is a 2 wheel drive. Was never a problem in the snow that we get, and we take the F150 when we visit the cabin in the Winter usually.

Sorry to get off topic, but witch one is the oldest in Wisconsin? I know “Cato Car Crash” is pretty old.

If I find them Jim, I will break their kneecaps for you! 😉

Seriously, there is no reason what so ever for this crap!

I’m too lazy to look, which cache is this? You guys need to meet up with us at our place in the Chute Pond area sometime.
