Congrats on your major milestone! On to 400! The road to 300 was a long one for me, but it started going fast after that.

Way to go on the second hundred! I thought I would never get there, but it went very quick after that!

There is a find closest caches option in Cachemate if you have the calc plugin loaded. I set mine to the closest 5 caches. I found this helpful today when I had 250 caches loaded and did only 4 of them.

On my specialized trips, I limit the number of caches in cachemate and on my GPS’s, so finding the cache names.

Way to go on passing two hundred Crazy Buzzard! It happened to be on a little tougher cache too! We still need to meet someday….living so close and all. On to 300 now.

I can’t find it on mine right now, but it should be under e-mail protection and you will need to allow .zip files under attatchments.

I agree that Zonealarm is the most likely cause.

Cachemate does not slow down your PDA at all, very smooth. I was just playing with Cachemate to answer your question and see a feature where you can project a waypoint….I never knew that existed. If you have the calc plugin loaded, you can do a quick search of ALL closest caches with the 7 closest on the screen without scrolling. I have a cheap Sony Clie’, so it’s not a powerful PDA by any means.
It’s worth the $8 that Smitty asks for registration.

I do like how with Spinner/Plucker that from any cache it shows you the 5 nearest caches in the file. Does Cachemate do something like that too?

What are the odds that they will place one in Neenah??

in reply to: Lowrance GPS #1749901

I helped host a Geocaching workshop in Neenah 3 weeks ago and had troubles figuring out how to get the pointer to point at the cache! My experience with my 4 Garmin models has been very positive.

You have been around longer than me Docapi. I signed up in September of 2001. How time flys!

I’m home yet! Leaving at 6 in the AM.

For what it’s worth, http://www.igotsomestuff.com/logs.shtml House of Brew’s site has not been updating for several days. This happens every now and then, but it’s nothing to worry about.

The WI-Geocaching.com logs page is usually hit and miss. I’m sure that your cache finds are up to date…..and that’s what counts.

in reply to: Garmin 60C vs CS? #1740547

I was doing the BoB series with Gizfinder last week and he only had to recalibrate his compass when he changed batteries. The unit was left on the entire time.

If it were brand new and it was my money (Mr.Thrifty sometimes) I would skip the CS and buy the 60C. Altimeter, compass feature and shorter battery life to me are not worth the $60 extra dollars. If it were the same price……maybe?
