I’m going to go out on a limb and say owners might not be all that open to the idea of Geocaching. Not to say that it can’t be done.

My understanding of “Forest Crop land” is that the land owner is given a big tax break and is entered into a long term contract with the state and must follow specific guidelines as to forest management and land use.

Interesting idea though! I’m going watch this thread to see the others replies.

I was afraid of that. If it had rained out, that unrated cache would have been bad news. Thanks for the update! and thanks again for helping organize the event!

Way to go! I didn’t realize who you were until Earth Angel explained to me yesterday. Glad to have spent time on the trail with you and Auntinae.

I see the next 30 didn’t take all that long. Good to have spent time on the trails with you! It was a good time at the event!

in reply to: Miata finds number 300! #1755187

I had a good time at the event! It took 37 days for this last 100 cache finds! I’m sure the next 100 will be a while longer.

I enjoyed teaming up with MrRRKing and the Ecorangers/Tammy and Company today! The time on the trails are much better with a partner or two for a second set of eyes.

I figured it was a typo Brian. I was just having a good time with a typo is all!

I bought my 1st Garmin in 1999 and am on my 3rd, but never pushed them to the limit. At least not until the last year or so.

You mean April 4, 2001 right?

I am listed as being a member since Sunday, September 23, 2001….a late comer!

You guys are right in that there was very slim pickings for caches out there back in the earliest days of the sport! I seem to be back in the drive 100 miles for 5 cache finds mode again though.

in reply to: Camo duct tape #1747207

I picked up a roll of it at Wally World tonight. Must have looked at it 5 or 6 times before I read the label right. Kinda like some of those dang micros I have been finding in pine trees!

Here I had the Miata all fired up and ready to head to Port Washington! I did a great 125 mile run today and only found 3 caches, but what fantastic weather!!!

Thanks for all of the replies!! Sounds like a lot of places must carry the stuff, but being camo it no doubt blended into the store shelves too well for me to see it!

Looks like I may drop them off in the Green Bay area today. I think one of the 16 may have made it to it’s destination already though, or at least someone promised.

I was North of Clintonville and around Embarass yesterday. That would have been a perfect time for me to head up and rescue your bug. You should ask the guy if he would like the container to stay there and resurect a cache there and use the whole story for a history of the cache and it’s contents.

I was the 1st finder of that cache and remember it to be a damp container then. It’s hard to think that drifting around in a river for that amount of time it would have been in good enough shape to figure out what it was all about and contact you.
