Take a right on Minnow Creek Road.
http://tinyurl.com/2n985If your GPS has a waypoint average feature like my 3 Garmins do, then I would set it down for 10 or 15 minutes and let it average the position 500 to 1000X.
I have done this and still ended up with the next finder posting coordinates that everyone felt happy with,
but it was the most logical thing to do I thought.I’m sure yours will be fine.
Must be huge or site is slow because I tried several times and got nothing. Even left it for an hour and nothing. Oh well.
I have seen ‘Lil Otters van and she does have a wide selection of replacement cache containers!
I am not as well prepared but have left a new baggie or pencil from time to time. I’m glad that we have people that care enough to take the time to make the sport better for the rest!
I was amazed when going out to replace the log book in a cache of mine that had close to 100 visits, that other than the ammo can being a bit rusty. The area around the cache looked much like the day I placed it! I have since put a date on it to be archived after reading this thread.
‘nuf said from me….now go out and find a cache instead of sitting in front of the computer.
Why not use EasyGPS to put say 200 of the closest caches to home in the GPS and when you get close to the area just use the find nearest waypoint and go from there.
I use this method quite a bit with my GPS III.
I might be available depending on which day you want the temp caches hidden.
That is neat Jeff! Thanks!
I just bought a Garmin V with maps and auto routing and just love it! I also have a Garmin III which only has a real cheesy map, but helped me find 235+ caches! I still use it and have been leaving my GPS V on the dash.
How many temp caches are planned just out of curiosity? Checking my social calendar, it looks like I might be able to make it….since I have next to no social life.
The Clie’ has helped ice a few. Ray, I have some paid vacation time again!
I do remember a certain acomplishment of hitting #10, #25, #50. But years ago it took 100 miles on the road to find 5!
Minutes ago I was high bidder on a GPS V, so finding the areas might come a little easier with maps!
Next group gathering I will have to spend a little more time being social.
I did close to 100 caches in the last 30 days, but the mosquitos on Monday’s adventure with Appollon might make me rethink the pace of the next 71 caches to the 300 mark.
To reach that goal before the picnic might be a bit lofty seeing as I have never been driven to do much of anything.
There has been a lot of people hitting levels that I could have only dreamed about!
Way to go!!! Which cache did you break the 1000 barrier on?
Green Bay Paddlers,
I see the density in that area is high! Not sure when I will make it down there though. Looks like some good ones too!Appollyon and I spent the day finding caches on the way to Sheboygan. It was a warm day with lots of Skeeters, but I would call it a sucess!
I blew through 200 cache finds big time on my week off and Appollyon pulled up 4 short of 100, but was hoping to put #100 on a special cache any ways!
I did about 100 in the last moth alone and would kind of like to nail down 300 this year yet! Time will tell.
