  • in reply to: When did “cache” become a verb? #1746956

I failed nouns and verbs in grade school. Just think of “caching” as slang.

Ms. WISearcher was comenting on her milestone/engagement cache being archived, and I thought to myself….self…I don’t even remember what my 100th cache was.

Nothing gets by you does it Ray??? Thanks for the reminder!

I have been trying to remember what my 100th cache was and for the life of me I can’t remember!

From the sounds of it, I’m not sure remembering it would be a good thing.

    in reply to: Ticks? #1747010

I haven’t found any since the campout. I did some caches where I figured I would have had a few ticks.

I think I was the “person” in one of those storys. The “mistake” made will not happen again.

    End of my confession.

Wesley Crusher introduced you to Geocaching? He saw it in a vision quest the the Haboch(sp). Interesting

Don’t know him personally, but I read in his blog about his discovery of geocaching and I got really interested.

I found 2 regular ticks on me and 4 deer ticks. 2 regular ticks in the house and one on my dog (from my clothes). Not a good weekend tick wise. Deet next time!

I had it installed from the CD you gave me, but had no idea it could do this too. I love the way it indexes caches by bearing & distance from home! Perfect. I am plucking it as I type and will be hot syncing it an a minute, but right now all I can say is “Perfect”!

I was in your neck of town yesterday on a whim driving the back roads with another Miata owner. Was kind of “lost” going through Sussex and Menominee Falls looking for Hwy 41. But made it by going North and East long enough.

Has anyone tried GPX Spinner Classic? http://www.gpxspinner.com/spinner.pl

I used this last summer and it worked very very well. What I liked about it was the way it had the feature to sort by distance from home. I tried to use it several times now that I have the Clie’, but it doesn’t give me all 250 caches like it should. I get about 75 is all.

I can use regular Spinner on my PC, but don’t get the caches sorted by distance.

I drove by group site #2 tonight and saw it was starting to get full! I didn’t stop in and say Hi though.

I hope to be there and ready to go at 9:00 AM Saturday. Enjoy!

in reply to: Possible newspaper interview #1746899

I was interviewed a couple of years ago for a short story in the Oshkosh Northwestern. Even made front page. The reporter was invited to do a cache with me, but declined. I agree to choose your words wisely. Good luck!

OK, I will take this as more fire wood is not needed and will not bring any Friday. No biggie.
My lot is only 4 miles away if there is a futher need.

I might grab a bunch of fire wood from my lot on Silver Lake. I have a pile started that would be good for camp fire, but not for the home wood burner. If it were to happen it would be Friday night.

Should I post coordinates and make wood gathering a virtual cache? 100th post too! Wooo Hooo!
