labrat makes a good point on allowing non premium members to log. I have had groups visit our caches where all are not PM and have sent e-mails offereing to take the cache off PM for 24 hours to allow them to log the find. The purpose of PMO should not be to prohibit cachers from finding and logging a cache.

I took a look at your series and it looks like you jumped through all of the right hoops to get it published. I still would go with all or none for PMO. As far as the comments by the whiney Way Ward One with his vast amount of experience with 100 finds in 5 year – ignore him. If he has any success complaining to the parks system you can always remove the final from PMO. I doubt if he will even pursue this any further.

The choice is the cache owner’s whether to make the hide PMO or not. It is unusual and confusing that the final only is PMO. Why not make the whole series PMO. I rarely use PMO and out of 260 hides have less than 10. Most are to protect unique containers. In the end it comes down to the old fact that no one has to find every cache in Wisconsin and no one ever will.

I still have half of the counties to go so I’ll give you a little more time.

Are you absolutely sure the cache is under them. I would expand my gz first before you go to that extreme a measure for a smiley.

    Congratulations Helen and Ray.
You may not find caches at the same pace that you used to, but you sure still know how to find the good ones.

I don’t know if this is the right spot in the forums to put this, it isn’t a geocoin but I didn’t see a travel bug section. Anyway, yesterday I got my free Geico Gecko Travel bug from Groundspeak. Anyone else get one? Now just trying to figure out what kind of goal I should have for it. ❓

I believe the goal and description are preset when you activate it. You probably cannot change it. At least that’s what the letter that came with mine said.

Congratulations mateys. Sorry I missed this when it happened. Thanks Chris to you and you family for all of the great logs and pictures on our hides during those 4 years. If I had known that this cache was going to be so popular for milestones I would have charged for it.

Hey Brian, when we come to do you’re “evil monkey” hides we’re bringing our 14 year old Emma along to do the climbing. She will toss the container down and I will “physically” sign the log so there. Delete it if you want, but do you really want all of the POTM caches deleted from your finds. All of the kidding aside the older I get the harder of terrain caches that I try. I’m 64 now and obviously not getting smarter. I have only logged a find on one difficult cache that was a tree climb that I came within 2′ of touching. It was Dr. Dolittle’s Spike and he e-mailed me and said I could log it. It’s a high crawl on your belly evil monkey. Age was not a factor here. I probably shouldn’t have even been trying it just 4 days after I had my gall bladder removed. Like Jim said with so many caches in the State no one can do them all. Our hides have mostly been fun and easy to find. When we passed 200 hides we started hiding more difficult and challenging caches as you know. The reason for that is so cachers who want a challenge have a choice. I have deleted several logs recently for ” not following what was intended”.

Ryan County Park in Waukesha County. Eleven caches and most are regular size. A puzzle, two multis and no micros. Wide trails through oak forests and prairies with a great view of Pewaukee Lake from the highest point. This is an undevelpoed park other than the trails. A favorite of geocachers who have been there. I’m a little partial because most of the hides are mine, but they are all well maintained and won’t dissapoint. Even beginners can probably do them all in 2-3 hours.

Something different and a really fun event that quite a few hope will become an annual gathering. It was actually nice to be able to walk that far without stopping to find a cache and instead just enjoy thee company on the trail today. Best wishes and lots of happiness to you in your marriage.
