so hard to hold tongue….. ❗
Not really, all you have to do is take your thumb and index finger, stick out your tongue and pinch it between the two fingers.
Please post a picture if you have one, but not one of those oversized ones. That would be gross.

84 days from the first day we found some caches until the next time we cached. We were slow learners and I’m sure it will never happen again. Since then it’s probably 7 days.

I LIKE this idea…. alot!
If you really want to do this is I will organize it. it could be open to fishing on Hartman and Allen Lake. Say with a kids and an adult class based on the Wisconsin age requirement for needing a license. Time possibly 1-3 Saturday afternoon. This would be very easy to setup and I would only need a couple of helpers. Maybe someone who likes bass fishing and wants to make his “mark” at the event.

Oh, yeah… Bring the canoe. Allen Lake by the campground is excellent if you like to go for big bass. We have luck there every July, not quite sure of the May fish size or action. (BTW, Mr. S is looking for a paddling/fishing partner for the times when I’m busy with this geocaching thing…)
The whole Chain O’ Lakes in that area offers all sorts of watercraft action. We like to put in our canoe at the landing near our cache GC29G20 and explore the Upper Chain from there. Beautiful lakes.
Thanks for the map, Labrat.
We found that cache last camping trip to HC and those were my exact thoughts. We probably won’t bring our canoe this time, but I will bring fishing gear. Have always had good luck fishing in the park’s lakes. Maybe a geo-fishing tournament could be part of the activities this year. This is a great place for shoreline fishing for kids.

omg I better keep the kid in line 😆
BTW its been some time since I’ve been there…Is there a place to use my canoe?
One lake is only a few hundred yards from your campsite. Campers leave their canoes at the lake locked up. The other lake is about a mile away. I like the closer lake for canoing, it has a more scenic shoreline.

Make sure you behave, you are right next to the host family.
The icon actually stands for “available” in winter.
Technically all caches are available year round. It just depends on how bad you want to get them. The icon is used fairly indiscriminately by lots of hiders. I’ll pick on Earth Angel since we are good friends. Tami has hidden over 60 “WF” hides in the West Bend area since the first of the year. She hid them in winter so she labeled them WF. We have found most of them and if you beat the plow to the area they are WF. Some we dug down 4′ for, but still found them. I think most cachers who have hunted them will tell you that despite being P&G’s they were fun in this winter of never ending snow. I don’t put the icon on my hides unless they are a foot off the ground or a legitimate regular size container. If you can’t find a regular size container that has a recent history of being found you are probably not destined to be a winter geocacher. We have had over 500 logs on caches of ours this winter so it also pays to determine which hiders place caches that can be found year round. If you really want a winter challenge try the 10 new hides that Sunshine and I hid for the upcoming WGA Chili Event. They were all hidden early this year and are well buried now. So get out there and winter cache. It’s more fun than you would imagine. This is Wisconsin.Good thing I re-read your post. Ticks are bad enough, but now earwigs. OK, now I understand.
What a great accomplishement considering you were out with the DNF King that day.

Bring back the DEAD HORSE too.

Just to clarify and avoid some of the confusion that occured last year keep these things in mind.
The Mega Event is a function of the West Bend Chamber of Commerce.
The event is not a WGA event, but it is supported by the WGA.
There was some confusion last year when it came to volunteering to help with the event.
When it comes time to post sign ups for volunteers there will be seperate sign ups for each of the different areas.
The WGA will post sign ups for the pancake breakfast. geocaching 101, the WGA booth and WGA product sales.
The West Bend Chamber will have a seperate sign up for help with the event registration, downloads and other areas directly involved with the running of the event.
While the West Bend Chamber will appreciate any help it can get from WGA members, please consider supporting the WGA first or both.
Planning by the West Bend Chamber has already begun and anticipation of a bigger and better event this year the Chamber and the WGA will be counting on all of the membership for their support.
